Phil Neville 'faces Man Utd exit'

Phil Neville is the latest Manchester United star to be linked with a possible Old Trafford exit this summer.
The Premiership champions reported record earnings on Tuesday but fear rising salary costs could damage future profits.

Club directors are keen to trim their wage bill and several high-profile players look certain to leave in the summer.

Defender Laurent Blanc has confirmed he will retire at the end of the season.

Dwight Yorke, Dennis Irwin and David May are all likely to move on too.

And Phil Neville is now set to join them, according to reports.

The defender's departure would raise most eyebrows as he was one of the crop of outstanding youngsters who have formed the nucleus of United's most successful sides.

Having come through with the likes of David Beckham, Ryan Giggs and brother Gary, he has been a fixture in the team for six years.

The 25-year-old was a second-half substitute for England in Wednesday's 2-1 defeat by Italy.

And he has played in 22 of United's 32 Premiership matches this season.

But his opportunities have been limited of late as Sir Alex Ferguson has opted to bring fit-again Ronny Johnsen back into the team.

Although Neville would be reluctant to quit Old Trafford, the form of Johnsen and Mikael Silvestre is thought likely to persuade United to do business if the price is right.

I hope this is untrue as he is a great player for us to have on the sidelines for cover.

Its all a load of bullshit.
The only way the likes of Neville would have gone would have been if Fergie had left
