Tiger is absolutely killing the competition at the Buick, -17 through 53 holes with an 8 hole lead over some nobody named Joe Durant.

This is true, he is special and a joy to watch. His chip on the 16th at Augusta in 2005 was the best golf shot I have ever seen(LIVE), Nike had to love it as the swoosh on ball stopped for a second or two with a closeup by CBS, and then turned in. He is a legend and we still have 10+ more years of him at this level. I will be shocked if he doesnt surpass The Golden Bear, who I was lucky enough to meet in the late 90s when I lived in teh shithole known as Augusta, GA, at least it was nice for one week a year
 
Tiger is too good for the rest of the field. How funny it was when a couple of years ago when Mickleson finally broke his major duck and Vijay singh had a great year and all the golfing pundits were predicting the end of Tiger's dominance. Add to that his adjusting of his swing and all the golfing journos were gleefully predicting a new era in golf. Well they have been proved wrong. Woods is on a different level to anybody else and there is no doubt he will break The Golden Bear's record.
 
Take it from me, as I played Augusta National two years ago, they were still talking about that shot. How perfect is it with the birds singing in the background. Tiger has made golf a world wide game imo.(with the help of Nike)
 
The Masters = Best Golf Tournament on Earth imo, the fact that they use the same magical course every year makes it even surpass the British imo (save for maybe St. Andrews)

I'd agree with that, although, as you point out, the British Open at St. Andrews is something different. I think it's on a different level from all other tournaments...
