PES 2008 demo on ps3?

Don't think they even have the demo release date yet

It's not out yet. It might be released on the PSN this thursday, when apparently it's updated every week. There's been a big stink kicked up because Sony haven't released a demo, when Konami gave it to them a couple of weeks ago at the same time as the PC and xbox versions. If you want to know exactly what's going on, register at Pesfan and go on the forums. They're all whingeing about it.

Ive just got home from work, turned the PS3 on, went to the store and guess what? PES 08 demo is still not available. feck feck feck!

I don't know if this is true or not, but I read somewhere (can't remember where) that Konami provided Sony with the demo at the same time they provided Microsoft with it. Sony simply hasn't put it up on the PSN yet for a reason that you can but conject upon.

Yeah i've heard that too, i also heard that it was because Sony thought the standard was pretty poor, and they'd rather wait til the full(and hopefully better) gold version was out. I'm completely computer illiterate but apparently there's a problem with the Frame rate. Doesn't bode well, but I'll keep the faith

So much for PS3 being the format for Pro Evo, they won't even run a demo for it. As much as the Pro Evo demo was underwhelming for the 360, it was still far better than the FIFA one.

probably wokring on more bloody videos/trailers to put up there, dont see why they only update it once a week either, live has no issues with sticking stuff up there 4 or 5 times a week

I only bother checking the store every 2 or 3 weeks now cos I dont want to download yet another trailer

yet another tick in the box for the old "you get what you pay for" saying

The official Playstation mag has reviewed PES 08 for the PS3 this month.

They gave it 9 out of 10 and said it was brilliant. The review contained no mention of framerate issues. So my fingers are crossed.

I doubt they will put up the demo. Someone contacted EU PSN and they said 'we don't know anything about a demo from konami' - so I wouldn't get your hopes up. It doesn't help that the EU PSN sucks monkey nuts, but if you're half savvy you'd have a US account and download most demo's from the yank PSN before they come out on the EU one.

Worrying News:

The two top pro-ev players in UK got the full game over the weekend(from the creator of the game, Seabass, after being at the European Championships for pro ev. The reports so far are that it has slowdown issues, and players like Henry can be used to run the ball the lenght of the pitch, with absloutely no effort at all. Bearing in mind these guys are addicted to the game, they presumably know their stuff.

I'm worried. Having read Seabass' interviews, he seemed to focus more on what he'll do with PES 2009, than the game at hand, and he mentioned in every interview that he was happy with the game, given the amount of time he had been given. Sounds like they were under pressure to get the game out, at the expense of quality.

I saw that interview as well, hardly mentioned PES2008, just kept going on about what was going to be in the next one. It'll be better than last years though, and that's all I'm particularly bothered about.

shopto.net are doing this for £30 delivered if you didn't know already.

Fraid not. The two guys in question(Rob McLean and Mirko Gardinec i think their names are) were at the euro finals over the weekend in Spain. Seabass gave all 16 of the finalists a copy of the game. Mirko has posted quite a bit about the game on pesfan (you need to be registered to view it-only takes a minute).

I know you seem to know your stuff when it comes to all this Weaste, I'd be interested to know what you think of it(if you have a chance to read the thread about the game), seems like Konami are rushing the game out, Seabass has talked in his interviews about how some of the team are working on PES 2009 already, seems a bit strange if there are issues in the present game that can be spotted within minutes of playing the game. Hope Konami haven't dropped the ball, PES is one of only two games i play. (The other being FM)

I think it strange that:

"players like Henry can be used to run the ball the length of the pitch, with absloutely no effort at all."

Why have those playing the PC and XB360 demos not noticed this? The actual game engine should be the same, at least on the logic level.

As for slowdown issues, football games aren't exactly taxing things to program in terms of raw graphical output due to their very small playing area, unless they have tried to model every player with around 400,000 polygons.

I can't read the forum, it requires an account.

I paraphrased slightly, the actual quote is,

mazing things Ive just noticed is the ability to just run past everyone with Henry, not even twisting or turning, just running in a straight line-Marko9Gardinic

I don't know anything about the technical side of things to be honest, but i'm pretty certain these guys won't bother posting something that wasn't true. If it is the case coulda patch be released that somehow sorted it, or are we stuck til 2009?

There was slowdown in the 360 version last year, for no apparent reason considering that it was hardly spectacular. Think they just have problems with the game engine they are using. I haven't seen the same slowdowns in the demo, but then again, you are stuck using just the one camera angle so can't zoom out at all.
