They are the online equivalent of taking your ball home because you had lost at Head n Volley's and were due some arse whacks.

Meh - you still get the win anyway and this way you have more time to play and whup someone else. No big deal.

What i don't understand is how come when someone quits, you aren't given a 3-0 win like you were on 08. Takes the piss.

I only ever quit when people hold down R2 and play throughballs.

e.g playing Ronaldo upfront and holding down R2 , you need no skill for that these people should be banned from FIFA.

Two buttons basically for a goal, how people can enjoy playing like that Every. Single. Game is beyond me.

Used to irritate me but i've learned how to defend against it now. For the most time anyway...

Yup. Any mug can easily pick United, stick Ronny up front and score goals for fun against most people. No skill required at all, that's why i'm not usually United, i'm mainly Reading.
 
People who quit games constantly should be banned from playing.

A far as the kick and rush merchants go it's part of the game unfortunately. Beleiev it or not it dribbling happens in the real game too. Just because you play as Manchester United/Barcelona doesn't mean you have to play that way. If you mix your game up that's just being a good player.
 
my online record is appalling as the only matches i seem to manage to complete are the ones I lose. Even when I win people seem to be able to quit after the final whistle and I don't get the win.

as soon as you see that animated loading circle 2 seconds after you score you know what has happened.

there should be a % DNF that once you hit, you can no longer play ANY online games for a 6 month period.

to win? I demolish bad players 3-0, they quit after 20 minutes.

Good players know how to defend against it, so thats where the fun is for me, i dont just lob it over though, i play with 3 up front and two in midfield. They interlink quite well actually. Its all about the three up front passing it between each other.

Theres the difference, I play it to have fun. Winning is secondary.

I don't understand why you aren't getting the win, i have pretty much always been given the win after someone has quit. Sometimes it takes a few mins to register but it gets there in the end.
 
i play it to have fun too. but the aim of the game is to win right?

come on man, i see what you're trying to do... I used to play age of empires 2 and there were these kids who would build 70000 bombard towers and then just sit there. They were the enemy.... but think how much fun it is to beat them!!! i dont stop you from having fun
 
I've found that as soon as I go up 3-0, they always quit. One time the guy quit at 2-0 because the second goal was an own goal, and one time the guy held up until 4-0. Once in a while you'll find someone who actually is happy to take the beating.

I don't really mind the quitting, as long as I get the win. What I do mind, is when people "quit", but not by quitting the game. They just go do something else, obviously hoping that I'll quit and give them the win. I just build up a 4,5-0 lead, and then press a button on my monitor to go to the computer and do something else. Eventually the game is over, and I win.

Oh, and my super-tactic is still working like a charm. Even against Barcelona, who I used to have big problems against, it's brilliant. People try their fancy moves which they normally use, then find that there's a player in the way who usually isn't there.

Anyone up for a game? I'm on the 360: Nemmic.
 
A lot of people start to feck about when I am beating them, doing kick-ups, scoring own goals, etc... and I know exactly what they're going to do, wait til 87th/88th minute and pause and quit. Around that time I get the ball and just pass it so they cannot touch it to pause.

Gets them really worked up :D

Who are these people? I've never encountered someone who does this. If I trounce someone who are likely to get really upset by it, they just quit or do the annoying thing I mentioned.

Maybe it's only on the PS3 :D
