'tis a silly place
Di Canio had a bit of a row on the touchline after setting up West Ham's second goal against Spurs on Sunday, and it looked pretty heated. I reckon when the transfer deadline is lifted we should go in for him. If we dont have sufficient funds for Ronaldinho, he would be perfect.

I ordered the game yesterday (PPV) and I couldn't help thinking that PDC would be great for United right now ... great link player, scores and creates goals... opposition (and own team)don't know what to expect!

We need an Eric, Teddy, PDC type player ...

I still find it a bit strange, that we backed out of signing DiCanio for £4million and then we go out and pay £7million for Forlan. Atleast with DiCanio we knew exactly what we were getting

Check out this article, anyone who saw the footage could see the anger in Dicanio, so why is Roeder making up this cock and bull story on how Dicanio celebrates a goal by shouting at his coaches is beyond me. <img src="graemlins/lol.gif" border="0" alt="[Laugh Out Loud]" /> PDC will no doubt refute this in the tabloids tomorrow and the result will be a slanging match conducted by the media. Expect him here by Christmas. Mind you, that’s what we said last year. ;)

i don't think we need to be looking at stop gap measures. we need to be looking more long term and Di Canio is certainly not that. :(

Think about it, we may not be able to fund a big money signing (Ronaldinho, Cisse, Duff, Lopez etc.) unless we get some major income from a sale of a big-name player who doesn’t perform this season (trying my best not to say the V word). ;) Therefore Di Canio would be an influential purchase imo.

It just amazed me to see how passionate he was to stay on the field and do something for his team. Passion is something we don't see from our players much these days (with the exception of Keano which is more bordering on craziness these days)

I reckon that West Ham might release him on a free in January, at the end of the day how much do they really think they will get for him.

I could see him signing in Jan. The only reason why he might is if we make a bid for Ronaldinho, which is possible but highly unlikely. PDC will most likely come in as stop gap. We seem to be doing this whole stop gap thing quite a lost recently!!!

They'd have to compensate him first off, which would ammount to a pretty penny for a club of West Ham's size. They would also rather keep him if the price didn't exceed 1m. He is passionate though, imagine you have been told you're going off and then setting up a goal. Class.

"This is a shame and curious, because for the first time in my life I was happy when substituted," said Di Canio. "But they write that I was saying f*** off - when I actually shook the manager's hand.

"Everyone knows if I have something to say I tell things to people's face. They are trying to make out that I am not a good, honest man - but I do not shake someone's hand and then speak badly about them behind their back.

"Once again there have been some stupid articles from people that have nothing to do but write lies. People who buy newspapers might hope to read the truth, but once again they have been betrayed, as have people who do write proper things.

"It is a shame for the supporters and for us, because when I said to my team mates a few months ago that the journalists and the sports media wanted to see us down they didn't believe me, and now they can."

"We were celebrating together, I was saying 'come on, this is for you Glenn' and I wanted to dedicate the draw to him because I know how he is suffering,"

"But they wrote the complete opposite story even though Glenn was there shaking my hand and saying 'come on, yes, Paolo'.

"I said 'we play for you' because I know he is in a worse situation than us as the manager - it is so frustrating for him, and he suffers. I wanted to celebrate with him, and then they wrote a completely different story.

"Then he called me closer and said 'Paolo, can you go on?' and I said 'yes, for another four or five minutes'.

"When I came off - and I knew I would have to, being a little bit tired after two games in three days after five months out - I encouraged every player."

Sorry but I have to say I think that's just no true. Cover up. From what I saw I cant see how he was 'celebrating a goal'
