got a sinking feeling this will be a lonely thread but who likes this band?

I picked up brighten the corners the other day and love it!

awooooooo starlings in the slipstream

its quality. Its important to have music that isnt just formulaic, chords playing with dischords

My mate's love them but the couple of tracks they played me didn't capture my imagination.

What are their best albums?

Great band. Ive only heard Wowee Zowee and Crooked Rain. Keep meaning to check out the rest of their stuff.

I like them but they're not one of my favourites either. Malkamus' solo stuff is quite decent too.

I saw Malkmus live once years ago. I was so pissed I slept through the entire gig

Great band, Pavement. Best album was their last, 'Terror Twilight'. However, 'Crooked Rain, Crooked Rain' might be my favorite. And 'Wowee Zowee' is also up there. 'Brighten the Corners' is actually my least favorite behind 'Slanted and Enchanted', their first LP.

One of the very, very best bands of all time. Malkmus solo is a bit anemic though. And 'Jenny and the Ess-Dog' is a blatant rip-off of Elliott Smith's 'Say Yes'. Still, The Jicks rock. Can't top Joanna Bolme and Janet Weiss for that smokin' hot indie-chick sweetness.
