Pavel Nedved??

If you are going to get played off the pitch, it is usually because you are losing the midfield battle.

If United go for another big "quality" signing as Alex likes to do, as much as a new striker is perhaps needed, I would be willing to bet that another world class midfielder will get the nod.

As Keano is not displaying the kind of end to end running and overall agression anymore, it would be great to have the likes of Pavel or a player similar to Davids (in his prime).

Of course, it is impossible to replace Keano, but at somepoint, it is inevitable that someone will be required to fill the massive hole he will leave.

Anyone have any thoughts on who might be a worthy midfield replacement?

Someone like Davids or Nedved will be great but I believe they will be too expensive. We already have creative talents in the midfield area but I feel we need more reinforcements in the likes of a destroyer like Gattuso or Makelele. We have Butt, but he is always injured. I'd really like to see O'Shea develop as a holding midfielder because of his build, strong defensive qualities and confidence in moving forward.

Keano needs to replaced at some point.I dont think there are many players who can replace a box-box engine like Keane.
1)Imposssible Target:Viera the best player in England
2)Realistic Target:Baraja a prized catch if we could get him.

Realistic Target: baraja(the best), gattuso(young and show some interest in comin to ManUnited)),
van bommel, rocisky(the czech guy), tachinnardi/tudor(both frm Juve)...

Tudor may be a good choice since he can also play as a defender. Anyone know how he is performing in Seria A this season?

Id be very happy with Nedved....tireless , scores , makes goals ......juve know that too of course

I believe Nedved is one of the most expensive players in Europe, so we should concentrate on van Bommel,Baraja.....maybe Gattuso.
About Tudor:He is frequently injured,so he didn't show everything yet. I saw him only a cople times playing in the midfield and he did not impres me.But he is a hell of a defender.Tall, not slow, pretty young,I must say(25 or so).

Nedved although a great player costs too much for a players his age, only real madrid would spend so much on one who will not justify any return or long term onfield success

2 years ago, he was offering himself to us (we could have probably got him for about 20 mil) but we went for Veron instead...
