Chelsea and Man Utd on alert after Brazil international hints at transfer
Santos president Luiz Alvaro de Oliveira says star player Paulo Henrique Ganso will be sold this year.

Santos club president Luiz Alvaro de Oliveira has revealed Paulo Henrique Ganso will be sold this year.

The Brazilian international playmaker - likened to the great Zinedine Zidane as well as Kaka for his elegant dribbling and running style - has been linked to Chelsea, Manchester United and Inter Milan, and they will be encouraged by Oliveira's quotes.

"I spoke with the player and he said he wanted to try a new experiences abroad," said the Santos president.

"Until now, the chances that Ganso would leave Santos were zero. After the Copa Libertadores it could be 15%; 50% at year's end.

"We will battle to the end so the price for him is favourable to us."

Sounds like he is from the Gillespie school of pulling percentages out of your arse.

Didnt he say he was going to play for one of the Milan clubs? or was that Neymar?

Yup, or maybe not, don't know if it was made up reports. They kind of followed the style of 'Nani has said he wants to leave United for Serie A.'

His preferred destination is Spain apparently.

I'd rather get Pastore then Ganso to be honest.

Pastore has more of an eye for goal and has the advantage of having played in Europe already. Ganso may well be an exciting prospect, but the Brazilian leagues are tailor made for playmakers, so it's natural for him to look very impressive in that Santos team (with Neymer alongside him). I have a feeling he'd need a couple of seasons in Europe before he emerges and we don't really have that sort of time.

If he wants to go to Spain he'd be better off going to Villareal or Valencia rather than jump into the already crowded Madrid squad.

Could the media please not use the word "alert" with Utd every time player wants to move or hints at moving.

It's doing my head in!

I could have sworn I read somewhere that he wants to play in England:confused:

I think these kids change their minds regularly, truth is they should be looking at the bigger picture. This is what I like about Sanchez recent interview where he said he was open to all 3 leagues, yes in the past he has said United were the club he wanted to go to but at this juncture he is wisely putting his career options first rather than boyhood fantasies.

Think about Sir Alex and David Gill! Every time there's an alert about a player wanting to leave his club, flashing lights and sirens go off in their offices.

He said the other day when he was refuting claims he'd already signed for Milan. He said his prefered destination is Spain anyway, but that he could do well in England and Italy.

Ganso Agent: Chelsea Not Interested In My Player But Inter And AC Milan Are Keen | CaughtOffside

Chelsea have made no contact about signing Santos superstar Ganso this summer according to his agent Guilherme Miranda.

The 21-year-old midfielder has a contract until 2015 but the Brazilian club are reportedly happy to cash in on their star now.

The Brazil international is valued at £18million but Miranda, who owns 45% of the player, says no club has made any formal offer.

The agent reveals top European clubs are after his signature but Chelsea is not one of them, and there is no chance of him staying at Santos.

Asked if the Blues had made contact about the possibility of Ganso moving to Stamford Bridge, Miranda told calciomercato.it: ”No, it’s another team.

“At the moment there is no official proposal, there are two clubs interested in Italy (Inter Milan and Ac Milan), one in England and also one in Spain.

“I can say that Ganso’s dream is to play in Europe, but I don’t know if this dream can be realised this summer.

“There are still several issues to resolve, but if it won’t be possible, we will also consider an internal transfer, in Brazil.

“We have to wait and see what happens in the coming weeks.”

“Currently there is no possibility (about renewing his contract with Santos), we’re not talking about it.”

I know it's Caughtoffside but since there are quotes from his agent I thought I'd post it. Assuming the English club is not us or Chelsea I wonder who it is.

He'll be far too overpriced. Juve are rebuilding and could use him. AC could use him, don't see Inter wanting him.. Real don't need him and he doesn't fit into Barca.

Money on AC.

Will never happen!!

Do they just throw Tottenham in the mix just because he's a midfielder?

Don't United have a first option on him?

City did as part of the Robinho loan to Santos, but i think that's expired.

Unless you believe that footyagentitk twitter, who claims he's was recently involved in a deal that gives us first option.

Brazil star Ganso wants to join AC Milan - agent - ESPN Soccernet

AC Milan are leading the race to snap up Brazil international Ganso, according to the player's agent, as he moves closer to a deal with the Italian champions.

Ganso, 21, is rated as one of the top young players in the game and is keen to move on from Santos after being linked with a big money move to Europe.

Russian side Anzhi Makhachkala, Paris Saint-Germain, Manchester United and Inter Milan have all been credited with interest, but Gaetano Paolillo expects his client to seal a summer switch to the red half of Milan after rejecting talk of a move to Paris.

Gaetano Paolillo told La Gazzetta dello Sport:

I don't know where this information of an offer from Paris Saint-Germain has come from. It is pure invention. We are not interested in PSG's petrodollars. Ganso wants to play in Italy with AC Milan. He wants to play against the likes of Inter, Roma and Juventus and he is fascinated by the Italian league. In the next few weeks we will meet with Milan directors to see if the transfer can happen.

Lad from the gym who works up at Carrington reckons Ganso is signing today.

Not saying I believe it, but just thought I would put it out there for the muppets.

Did he look like your average WUM?
