went to the hard rock calling festival yesterday at hyde park (not very much rock to be had) saw allison krauss ,christina perri ,big country(not a great fan but seen them loads now) guilllemots etc,but paul simon was awesome 2 1/2 hr set which included stints from jimmy cliff and ladysmith blackmamboza and a chap singing about the death trains to the mines,he did songs from gracelands to more recent stuff and of course 2 songs from the garfunkel era one of which was the sound of silence which produced the strangest atmosphere i have ever known it was completly silent but with a tension and electricity through the audience that was moving.i have known deep respect from an audience such as when clapton sings tears from heaven about his boy or sombre moments like at the live8 concerts but nothing quite matches that yesterday.

I seen Paul Simon live last year, he was amazing. He's just an amazing musician and singer/song-writer.

in his 70's now i think but when it comes to putting on a show he gives the youngsters a run no gimmicks either just lets his music speak for its self

Love Paul Simon. Have you seen the documentary that showed the making of Bridge Over Troubled Water? Check it out if you haven't.

I'd love to see him live. My dad had his albums when I was a kid and I used to get stick in school for saying I liked Simon and Garfunkel when all the cool kids were into Stone Roses, Blur and U2.

Simon & Garfunkel are one of the greatest acts ever, you have the moral high ground.
