Ok, so we lost the derby and were humiliated but the more I see of Scholes in the middle the better I think he is getting. I've always thought he was a fab player but he was on another level to anyone else on the pitch on saturday. His passing is far better than JSV and his takling seems to be getting better. He really was our only threat on saturday and surely SAF has to keep him in the middle. He has it all.

I agree, his best position is midfield. He was our best player on the pitch on Saturday. Mind you, I don't think SAF sees his best position as Midfield?

I thought that his comment in the press conference today was a bit obvious though

'Europe is what concerns us tomorrow, we have done very well in the competition recently and I expect another European performance.'

Would other kind could it have been? <img src="graemlins/houllier.gif" border="0" alt="[Houllier]" />
 
i think he was suggesting we need a perfcormance worthy of the competition we are playing in. and that europe is the only place where weve looked good this year. oh onions onions. they stink dont they?
 
Scholes is obviously our best and most consistent "midfielder" in this season. But playing as forward he can only perform 60-70% of his true standard usually.

Agreed. If we need that "link" forward I'd rather play Giggs there and have Fortune played on the left (don't understand why he didn't even get a chance to play this season, especially when we are undermanned in midfield).
