Which had nothing to do with Van Nistelrooy and Kluivert's form - they played well in that game.
Holland come to life only when others like Makaay or Hassailbank drops in etc ... Not a good omen there ...

While I agree about Makaay, when Hasselbaink came on against Ireland in Dublin, it was the beginning of the end - the Dutch didn't threaten from him.

Let's sign Makaay then...

I still hate Kluivert for turning his back on us some years back ... I still remember that !!

Love him for turning his back. If he had arrived Yorke and cole would never have struck up that partnership.

That happens 'cos some "clever" Van Gaal put Hassailbank right at the wing ... Hassailbank isn't any winger for god sake .. you put him in 'cos you want him to poach the goal ... when both the striker on the field has failed to do it all matches - it's just right to swap it ...
Nevermind though ... that's not the argument point here I just recall it a bit and put it down ... I don't think Holland deserve to win anything from that match ..
Anyway, i think that the Dutch guy's critism of Van Nistelrooy is unduly harsh; Ruud has almost anything one could want from a striker exept that he doesnt get enough headers and doesnt take the ball passed people. You cant argue with over 30 goals a season really.[/QB]

You're talking about me, I think. Well, I maybe was a little to hard on Ruud, but really what does he do good this year till now??? Almost nothing.
Last year everything went right and he played great. He didn't lose much balls, he worked very hard, he even came to midfield many times to get the ball and scored many goals. But this year, he first of all doesn't score, he doesn't go to midfield anymore to get the balls and I've got the feeling that he doesn't work very hard, not as much as last year.
So, when you have a v.Nistelrooy that is in a good shape, you've got a great player, but when he's strugglin' with his form he's kinda useless, at least for a side as Man. U that plays in the premier league....

Yet they managed to miss about 10 open goals between them. Together, their performance against Ireland was one of the worst finishing displays I've ever seen.
