Part-timer, gloryhunter?

OT

Well I only visit OT once or maybe twice a year but that is due to the fact that I´m not a millionaire nor a criminal(bankrobber). The fact is that I love UNITED more than life itself, I know most of the songs(which I sing at my local pub every weekend to the great annoyance of my girlfriend), I´m a member of the Scandinavian Branch and I was a member of the membership scheme until I found out that it didn´t really help me in my search for a ticket, I NEVER drink Carlsberg for obvious reasons. I admit I´m no Pete "fecking" Boyle, and I don´t go to every game "home & away" but to me UNITED are THE RELIGION. Sometimes I even wish (When I´m not sober & sane) that UNITED would lose a bit more often so we could have the "good" old days back when one could only go down to the ticket-office and buy the most precious thing in the world. I only go to OT once/twice a year but I do NOT consider myself as a part-timer/gloryhunter. Remember: We outside of MANCHESTER aren´t all the same. Many of us would gladly swap places with you Mancs! KEEP THE RED FLAG FLYIN´ HIGH

Well said mate. Ever since Virgin got rid of their half price train deals, I've been paying about 70 quid a pop, match ticket and all, just to get to Old Trafford. Can't help working in London, but 70 quid a match isn't sustainable. Have to stop going and save up. Arsenal match will be my last application for a while.

Well I´m sorry you won´t be going to OT for a while but at least you live in England. I have to pay 200 pounds for the fecking ticket ONLY, not to mention travel costs.

Isn't it cheaper to get membership for 26 quid and go in through the lottery?

You're preaching to the choir m80. You don't have to justify yourself here. We didn't choose United, United chose us. <img src="graemlins/keano.gif" border="0" alt="[Keano]" />

It definately would be cheaper but as I never know whether or not I´ll get a ticket, having in mind that I´ve gotta make travelarrangements, I´d rather be on the safe side and pay ridicoulous (rightly spelled?) prices for the ticket

I suppose if you go for the big matches that's true. However, I've always got my tickets provided I apply through the website on the first day the applications open.

Corelive has a good strategy - apply as soon as you can through the post and enclose a postal order. It's too much trouble to send back a postal order in your name if you get chubbed, whereas they can just not charge your credit card if you apply online. Haven't tried this myself, but I can see the sense.

Well I might become a member again after all. Cheers

No need to have already visited to OT (or Highbury, for me--although I have been there :) ) to be a true fan.

How many people on this site purport to be Christians but haven't been to Heaven yet?
