Do you think that Paolo Di Canio has any chance of bolstering our striker force, should Alex Ferguson swoop for him in January, even if he is a temporary option, I guess Alex will wait on his striker purchase until the summer, when he will have a vast choice to choose from!! ;)

I think the most wise option for Alex to make is to sell Veron, while he can still get a high price for him, because if he carries on like this, he won't even be worth 10 Million Pounds a season later!!

I was pretty disheartened to read the story about the Man United scouts who 'rejected' Thierry Henry, our scouts don't seem to be doing very well, or let's say, not as good as Arsenal's, Juve's, Barca's or even Liverpool's...

United need more raw, young, pacey talent, like PROPER South-American's, etc!

Man Utd have a lot of money, so we don't need to sell Veron to keep all happy!!!
Buy Ronaldinho for 24 million and Escude for 6 million,thats as simple as that!!!!

Yeah, you have to look at the package. Just because he plays well for Arse (with a french mngr and french team mates) doesn't mean he'll perform that well in OT.

Look at McManaman. Don't do as well eh.? So whats wrong with Beckham,Giggs,Scholes,Butt,Brown,O'Shea etc. Sure they came up through the youth but they were "scouted" at some time. Look at the bigger picture young man.

Scouting means picking Raw, Young, Unknown talent from other smaller clubs and making them superstars, a bit like Ole, the rest of his batch (Cryuff, Ronny, etc) were pretty ordinary.

We have to just rely on our finances, like buying, Rio AFTER he was the best English defender, Barthez was the best goalkeeper, Cantona was the best playmaker, etc, so we just have to pay hefty amounts of money (except Cantona, thanks to great tactical ploys by SAF)

I hope you understand in what context I mean...

Johnsen ordinary? How so, pray tell? He was a giant for United in our treble year and scored regularly for a centre-back.

So what the feck did they do with Beckham etc.? find them under the goosberry tree.? They all played for smaller clubs at some time and were "scouted" by United. You dont ASK to play for us you get invited, and by whom.? The scouts.!!
ALL clubs let players slip through their fingers and its not just a question of going out and finding this raw talent. All good players today are "listed" and known about and offered way before you and I know about them. Anyway I dont see nothing wrong with what United have done, just look at our record for the past ten years, or are you just comparing to how long you have been supporting us.
But then again lets go back even further shall we, does the names Duncan Edwards,Georgie Best,Bobby Charlton, just to name a few, mean anything to you.? I think if you get your head out of you "lets get S.American" talent arse you will find that Manchester United have developed more "great" footballers than any other team in the world.
