Couldn't find a thread on him, but just been confirmed to Southampton for £15m. Really like Southampton and Oswaldo should be a top signing for them. Big blow for Lambert's WC hopes though.

Also won me a nice £180 as I put some money on it at the beginning of the window.

Interesting signing. Very talented, but the boy is fecking loco. He'll likely bring something spectacular with him, whether it's his football, or getting into some scraps.

I like what Southampton are doing.

They've got a young manager and have a nice blend of academy graduates and good players. They also have quite a lot of money to spend, their decision to sack Adkins which looked farcical looks a very decent one right now.

Who's likely to make way, Lambert or J.Rod? Or does he not play as a typical forward?

Splashed a lot of money on Rodriguez though, and he played well at the end of last season

Osvaldo is a #9 , Rodriguez tends to play from wide. I think Lambert will be most affected.

Cheers, interested to see how they do this season - I think they've got potential to become an established mid-table side.

I should imagine it'll be Rodriguez, Osvaldo and Ramirez in a 3 behind Lambert if they're all to play. Although I doubt that'll happen, somebody needs to be a "rarely plays backup striker" and Guly isn't good enough.

I doubt Lambert is going to be sacrificed. He was brilliant last season and he has started this season well again scoring for both England and So'ton.

Where is all of Southampton's money coming from exactly? They don't have a super rich oil barren owner.
Is this going to end up like Portsmouth at some point?

There owner died of a heart attack a few years back, with his assets going to his daughter. Think she's worth near on £4 billion.

Didnt know that but did all the promoted clubs get a boat load of money last season? I think the amount was closer to £90m.

I think that's just a general rough figure that clubs can expect when promoted. It's not just handed to them. It's just the rough sum of what they'll get through TV rights, sponsorship, ticket revenues etc etc.

You find a lot of clubs spending more as well due to the large bump in TV revenues incoming.

Can't see that happening as Lambert's the one who likes to drift all over the pitch while Osvaldo's the traditional #9.

In that case, step aside you sugar daddies of Chelsea and City. There's now a sugar mummy on the block.

Roma looking at Gilardino to replace him supposedly. That doesn't sound like the greatest of transfer business.
