Alright, he was rammed down our throats for 2/3 years about ten years ago which also spanned his daughter, son and wife's 'careers' on talk-shows and other dire tripe, but I'd like to talk about Ozzy himself.

I went away last week and bought a couple of books to read by the pool and not impressed by the selection, I bought a book on shark attacks (really comforting as I was going snorkelling in tiger shark territory) and saw Ozzy Osbourne's biography, I Am Ozzy.

The show was funny for about two episodes before it got stagnant, but his book is funny as hell. He might not have been the best human being around (shooting a load of chickens to death with his semi-automatic because they wouldn't lay eggs, slapping his first wife and abusing his missus and kids with his addictions) but I have to say it was a great read from a person whose had a lot of things happen to him.

plus he was involved in making 6 of the best "rock" albums of all time.

the first 6 sabbath albums...that is....the latter ones and his solo stuff are pretty shat.

Blizzard of Oz also produced two or three fantastic rock songs, including Mr Crowley which has one of the finest riffs/solo's in guitaring, shame Randy Rhoads had to die so young.

Tony Iommi is what makes Black Sabbath great. Ozzy's vocals there were OK, but it was the riffs that really did it. When Dio arrived, the vocals took a major step up (Tony Martin was alright too).

I do like Ozzy though. No More Tears is one of my favourite songs.

Give the man some credit...

Finished with my woman 'cause she couldn't help me with my mind
People think I'm insane because I am frowning all the time
All day long I think of things but nothing seems to satisfy
Think I'll lose my mind if I don't find something to pacify
Can you help me occupy my brain?
