Im late to the party but I just discovered this series. Really enjoying it. Like LOST mixed with Little House on the Prairie

ah nice had no idea a second season was out

enjoyed the first one

It's good. But them choosing to release the second season all at once was a terrible move, since like half the enjoyment I got out of Outer Range was going to the subreddit and discussing what everything meant. You can't make a TV series that lives on the mystery and then release an entire season at once. LOST didn't get big just because it was LOST, it got big because half the planet was spending the days after a new episode talking about it.

Fair point. Seems to be the way now though. People like to binge and don’t have patience

Season 1 was mysterious and weird. It seemed like a passion project for the creator. He's gone in season 2 and it's very obvious. It's just a normal TV show now and all the mystery and weirdness has been stripped out of it... But I still enjoyed season 2 a lot. It's faster paced, it's easier to follow and I feel it gives the series a real chance of becoming a hit because cowboy sci-fi is a fecking fun concept.

This happens time and time again with TV shows. The original creator spends years crafting the perfect story, with a beginning, middle and end, then, after it achieves some success, suddenly they're expected to develop a continuation of their story but this time with deadlines and the input of dozens of other people with their own thoughts on how it should go. Rarely ends well.

Didn't know it was out either and I can't remember very much about it so am just putting this on

Havent seen any of the second season, so this is a season 1 comment

Thought it was good until the finale where the show had a different more comedic tone I wasnt into
