We haven’t replaced our ‘forwards’, but we’ve also changed to a negative set up where half of our listed ‘midfielders’ have now become forwards anyway. The issue is that even they are all injured.

Mount, Mainoo, Bruno and Eriksen are all forward options now.

A quick bit of adding up of transfer fees shows that squad cost £884 million to assemble
 
Absolute shambles. And I get Amorim's determination to prove a point, but letting two forwards leave when we were already light up front looks crazy in hindsight.

It was crazy without any hindsight - said all through the Jan window that we would be fecked if players who left weren't replaced

I would argue there is not one (perhaps Bruno being the exception) player in this squad who would command a fee from any of the top half Premier teams. We have squandered a fortune on damaged, flawed and deficient individuals, and to make our situation worse we shower them with unearned wealth.

That's a top 4 squad if we play 4-2-3-1/4-3-3 and tickle the players feet after each match to make them laugh and giggle. Which also coincidentally makes them stop doing stupid individual errors and also suddenly makes them score more goals.

If you just sprinkle a little "goal dust" on them it could easily be a top 14 squad at the very least.

Our fit players include a goal keeper that gives aways chances, forwards that cannot convert chances at the other. 2 midfielders that cannot play more than 45mins and 1 defender that should already been retired.

We don't really have any players left. Even if we want to switch to a back four, how do we do it with these little players? Given the context, there is really not much the manager can do, back four or not. We simply do not have any players at all. Amorim has been dealt a bad hand and our clubs are cursed.

Things would have looked so much better if Shaw, Martinez, Mount, Collyer, Mainoo and Amad weren't injured and Rashford actually put in the shift.
 
Not perfect but could look quite different. At lest we would have some Midfield and some threat from wingbacks. Amad, Martinez, Shaw would make the biggest difference. I would like to say Mount as well but honestly I have no idea how he may play.
