For whatever reason I missed it live and thought it was a counter attack/ transition goal. Nope.

18 pass goal.

Thanks. I didn't link the pointless Antony swivel and back-pass to the actual goal because my stream kept dying mid-way. I might need to get a proper subscription going to enjoy our football.

Nice. I didn't realise it either.

What that clip shows me is patience and trust in your teammates. Players making runs for each other and being found with good passing.

For the first time ever I think we played high level football. Up there with the best in the league (Man City/Liverpool)."

The pace of the game really reminded me of those performances when high level teams trading blows.

The 14th pass is what we've been missing for ten years. That deep lying midfield pass into an attacking midfield situation (whatever attacker) and going from there. Eriksen is sensational. So sad he didn't come to us when we were in for him years ago. Super classy player.

All of the goals we've scored under ETH have looked well worked and involved us moving the ball well between the lines.

It's a real positive for us and it's why I feel different about us approaching games a little more pragmatic. This is not what it felt like under Mourinho, because when we pick our moments we are playing some really good stuff.

He’s come to us at the right time. When we were in for him before he was a pure 10 and would have been rotated with Bruno (or maybe we wouldn’t even have bought Bruno). He’s had to adapt his game and we’ve benefited from him having a full season at Brentford playing deeper

What i loved about this is that we aimed to pass the ball through the lines and use the left half-space to produce a good chance for Anthony on the right side, and when that iso play didn't pan out, we recycled possession (even De Gea touched the ball) and managed to achieve what was our main goal since the first pass in that sequence. Crossing my fingers, but it seems that high quality football is coming back to OT, can you believe it?

Oppo fans were texting me during the match saying we were getting dominated.

I disagreed because we were moving the ball with far more purpose than Arsenal. Some of the passing between Eriksen, Bruno, Sancho and Malacia in those first 15mins was world class.

I'd love to watch us "get dominated" like against Liverpool and Arsenal all season long.

2nd half 45-60 we definitely were hanging on a bit, but once they got the 1-1 we kicked on again.

Good sign of a mentality change as in previous months we would have fully collapsed at that point.

Remember what happened to Sarriball?

Let's not do ten Hag ball

His one and only season with Chelsea he finished 3rd, lost the EFL cup final to City on pens I think and won the Europa League.

If Ten Hag does that this season, its a good season!

That ball from Eriksen has got me a little excited on a Monday morning
Eriksens movement - even before Malacia had the ball left on the half way line he was anticipating him taking it and made an angle to get a 3 v 2 and some space. That is just beautiful - the pass was just the icing on the cake.

Sarriball works I dont know why it was so heavily castigated in England. Its pretty simple stuff - play from the back through a regista, three-man diamonds and a third-man run off the ball with a vertical transition to hit that run. The third man run is almost impossible to defend.

That phase of play was very interesting, Arsenal having 4 v 2 at times maybe even 5.
We were letting Antony stay wide to stretch play when we could get the ball back and break to exploit the space left by Zinchenko. But we were not getting the ball back enough and not clinical enough to make use of it.

The changes made turned the game. Ronaldo was not a typical #9 so he played all across their back 4, sometimes being around Lakonga and Xhaka. Fred added the numbers short in midfield. We now had numbers in areas we were short. It was some smart work by EtH

I have to admit I sighed when the ball was played all the way back to the keeper, but it encouraged Arsenal to push higher up the pitch which then gave us the space to create a chance.

Yeah we clearly hoped to counter but it just wasn't working, Arsenal moved the ball too well and accurately. I was hoping we would make a change before they got the 1-1 as it was clearly coming - but ETH obviously had faith we only needed 1 chance to win it back and exploit the space.

The subs/tactical changes definitely got us back in the game though. I think Arteta made a big mistake taking off Odegaard personally, they just weren't the same after that.

Yeah he tried something strange to create a new overload on the left with Zinchenko off and Odegaard off and use Smith-Rowe as left sided AM with a back 3.

Back fired massively as they all converged to close down Bruno who found Eriksen making that run through all that space through the middle. It was some naive work by Arteta

Goals based on team build up rather than individual brilliance. Ten Hag is building something and needs time and patience from supporters.

Maybe he thought Bruno was the creator and he needed to cut him off from the team, similar to what teams did to Pogba before and then it killed the whole creativity of the team. Luckily, we have one more guy but if you commit 2 players to Bruno and 2 players to Eriksen, at least 1 of our other players is going to have lots of space around him to create. We need to count on that point specifically.

This is what Fred and Mctominay are unable to do and has kept us back for years. Intelligent and decisive passes that goes forward. They are so comfortable making backwards and side passes that does nothing.

Fred could do it, he showed it a few times over time. Scott too. But again, people only remember missed passes or backward passes, not forward passes that lead to good action or goals.

We are just doing it better now but Fred helped a lot when we were under pressure with his counter pressing role ahead of the midfield, and it led to a huge chance for Bruno.
