Jeez it must of been a bitter pill to swallow for our new No.1 ABU-Mick McCarthy to finally succumb to public opinion and include John O'Shea in the Ireland squad for the Russia game next week. Can someone explain why he left O'Shea and also the best player in the League of Ireland-Glen Crowe, out of the last friendly and instead picked Jim Goodwin of Division 2 side Stockport County? <img src="confused.gif" border="0">
I always thought O'Shea should have been in the WC squad anyway.
He's been in the Irish squad before. The friendly against Croatia where he conceded a last minute penalty. It wasn't his fault though and I thought it did influence him not going to the WC when he should have. Good to see him back in the team. Let's hope he's allowed to play in it by Fergie 
O'shea had a nervous start t Saturdays game when he came on. Admittedly he was out of position. I thought he settled down well when SAF shifted him to the right in the second half.
