I'm a bit surprised that Stewart wanted to stay though since he has little chance of playing in the first team much.

I'm not surprised at o'Shea -- I thought he has done well -- could it be that Butt is leaving ? Or is Stewart better than we all know.

Has anyone seen him play in the reserves?

I've seen him a couple of dozen times. He has good feet , a big engine, and a raging temper. He can be very frustrating at times when he attempts passes which are too ambitious and gives the ball away but he is a good lad. I don't think he is in the same class as Butt however Sir Alex thinks highly of him so enough said.

I think he is looking long into the future, because after Roy Keane retires in 4 years time Butt will probably replace him and Stewart will take Butt's current position as the Number 2 in that role.
