Original Xbox LIVE to be terminated

According to SentUAMessage this week Microsoft are stopping the LIVE service for all Xbox 1 games - even if they are playable on the 360.

Apparantly due to this there will be some "major" new features added to 360 Live in the coming months....wonder what that could be

I downloaded the original Fable off that, if it's the games on demand service they're on about.

Thats not it, but they're stopping that too anyway.

Basically, you want be able to play Halo 2 etc etc online anymore.

Na, you can still purchase the games but only single player will work

It takes effect some time in April

Why are they stopping it? Did the old XB LIVE use dedicated servers?
