Didn’t know where to put this so please feel free to move it.

Over the last few months I’ve noticed that we are getting more and more opposition fans joining the forum, personally I think it’s great as it adds to the discussion. However, it can become confusing at times when reading through threads, therefore would it be possible to ‘tag’ them with the Club that they support?

The oppo fans are a mixed bunch on here, some real beliers, and some great lads, not sure how you would tag them, and there would be no point in doing so unless you could tag the massive bell ends vs the more reasonable ones.

What difference would it make?
Obviously the site is 99% United fans, however on occasion I’ve found myself having/reading a discussion with an opposition supporter without realising it, I feel it will bring a bit more clarity to the site.

Would be pointless. I've had 'Everton fan' as my tag for ages yet some people still think i'm a United fan when posting as they don't take any notice.

<<<<< Some are already tagged
Indeed, a simple yet effective way of showing the site who you support, even if it is in a ‘piss take’ way :)

Indeed, a simple tag of Man City, Liverpool etc. under their username would work at first, if it’s clear that they are indeed a bell end then I’m sure admin could come up with a more appropriate tag

'They' don't sound too different to the Mancs... :wenger:

I'd say it would be handy to have. Just a clubs supported section under location. There have been a few times someone has made a comment about their team and it has been difficult to work out which one they are actually referring to quickly.

I think that would turn a lot of (valid) critcism into my club vs your club debates.

Noticed rival fans has a 'supports' section under their username now, is it a test run or is it going to be permanent?

It's permanent.

People can set it when registering but not all opposition fans will. Admins can update it and I've been doing that the last few days but it's a slow process as I don't have a comprehensive list of names and supported teams.

Feel free to post in here if you notice anyone who is an opposition fan without the 'Supports' tag so their profile can be updated :)

I think 'Ozil to the Arsenal' is a bit of a give away. (I assume these young dawgs don't even know about the greatness of Storey).

Think this is a really good idea! I'm constantly getting oppo supporters teams mixed up.

That'll create a prejudice though

Often i'm engaged into a banter and only realised after that they're oppo fans. It works wonder rather than knowing before hand that they're oppo fans. You tend to take everything else as bias when you know you're talking to oppo fans.

I wouldn't class Forest as your opposition (although the way you keep playing maybe we'd have a chance ;) ) - but could I have Forest pls as my tag?

If you go to personal details I think you can set it yourself.

You can do it yourself man. Just :

Step 1 :

Click on Personal details.

Step 2 :

Enter in the Supports field and click Save Changes.

I might have accidental set mine to 'My legs', yes I am that funny, and it appears I can't change it.

Apologises for fecking around with it, I couldn't help myself.

I don't have the same personal details screen as per your screenshot. After gender - there is no option for 'supports' instead it goes straight to favourite player?

EDIT - looks like someone has done it for me? It's now listed I notice :)

Smart arse! You owe me the 10 seconds it took to fix ;)
