He arrived in Germany from the Egyptian second division as an 18-year-old, having been spotted by ex-Manchester United winger Ryan Giggs, spending a couple of seasons in the youth side before making his senior debut in May 2020.

Giggs, then an analyst for Uefa, saw Marmoush at an under-17s tournament in Dubai and told an agent about him, who alerted Pierre Littbarski, head of scouting at Wolfsburg.

Interesting.

After amassing 17 appearances and two goals for Wadi, Marmoush subsequently made the move to Europe in 2017, joining VF Wolfsburg before then making a switch to Eintracht Frankfurt in the summer of 2023.

He enjoyed a superb debut season with the Bundesliga side, netting 17 goals from 41 appearances across all competitions.

Omar has maintained that impressive impact so far across the 2024/25 campaign. Prior to joining City Marmoush had accrued 20 goals from just 26 appearances for Frankfurt alongside 14 assists.

Man City have Haaland and sign this lad.

We had Hojlund and signed... Joshua Zirkzee.

I don't know why but I'm really skeptical of the lad. Maybe its cause our transfers have been so poor lately, but I see a good player in him but not a great one. Kinda feels like he'll just be another attacker at City of a similar level to Doku, Savinho etc...

It's ok, if he's shit you'll just sell him to one of your farmer clubs and buy the new flavour of the month for 60m.

Ridiculous price (and contract). Can turn out as a solid squad player for them but would be very very surprised if he'll come even close to justifying that sum.

Frankfurt really been fleecing clubs left and right these last couple of years, insane successfull buying/selling strategy.

Frankfurt have sold some utter dross for a lot of money in recent years. Jovic, Muani, Lindstrom.

Marmoush for €75m, Pacho for €40m, Muani €95m, Lindstrom €30m, Jovic €63m, Haller €50m...
Do not buy from Fankfurt!

Edit: took Pacho out. Thank you @renatosanches85

What’s the problem with Pacho? Good players imo
Sorry, that is my bad. I saw that he only had 7 appearances (I do not follow PSG) without realising I was looking at their CL stats.
If he is a regular and doing well then it was obviously well spent money by PSG.

Still great business by Frankfurt that bought him for 14m and sold him a year later for 40m.

Think he'll work well playing behind Haaland taking advantage of the focus on him from defenders. City don't have any other forward like him.

I'm kinda surprised you didn't go for Kvaratskhelia - you are in need of a winger that can actually produce more chances for Haaland. Grealish isn't good enough. Savinho doesn't look spectacular; Doku is hit and miss, and Bernardo Silva is a roaming attacking midfielder, not a pure winger. Agree that you need a striker arguably more, but Kvara would have been an interesting buy for you. Money is no object for cheaters anhyow.
