Old Trafford

Why not making a 2&3rd tiers to the South Stand, which will give old trafford a capacity of almost 100,000?

I know that there is the problem of the train station behind this stand, but I'm sure that there is no problem to find a solution for this.

think about that.. it will give a lot of chance to members to obtain tickets for home games, and also to enlarge the number of the season tickets.

..

Be alright if they fix giant sun lamps to the stands so the grass will grow, either that or we could fly the stadium to the Algarve a few days of week....

Well if you are 'Somewhere at OT' it wouldn't have escaped you that the stands block out the sunlight (sunlight - ) as it is. The turf's been relayed, what... 7 times in a couple of years..? They may as well have a giant roll of turf under the Stretty so they could just pull out a new pitch every week and through out the old one.... (feck, not a bad idea that.... )

Train track is not the problem, it could go under the stand. And don't say it couldn't because there is a stadium here in Spain where a fecking motorway goes under a stand.

Finished in its current design, OT would be about 92,000.

Problem then is how to cover up what looks like a building site on the fecking roof. ;)

Bit expensive putting a train bridge over the South stand. ;)

I can see United having artificial turf someday. Not that shite they had at QPR and Luton... there's stuff out these days that's very close to real grass.

Personally I'd like to see the corners filled in next.

Let it go under then. Far cheaper than diverting it.

That turf that you are talking about is found on many fields in the NFL and college football here in the US. I believe Michigan State University is one of the places that has developed it. Many stadiums here have drainage under the turf to drain during periods of heavy rain and some have something ( forget what it is called) that helps snow melt faster. The technology is out there but there are reasons artificial turf is not popular. Players are more suseptable to injury ( NFL has seen many players with neck injuries from getting tackled and landing on the hard turf) and it costs alot of money.

the pitch wud b even more crap if the pitch was blocked by anymore stands!

The amount of times ive had this conversation on the caf is in double figures now but never get bord of it... :)

More chance of sitting in tier 3 which is no good

Is that where they normally stick the foreigners then?

Making the stadium bigger would only enhance the poor atmosphere inside OT, as fans would be further from the pitch than they currently are. We must be the only club in world football whose atmosphere within the stadium has decreased with every expansion.
