Producing old programmes in new format for a new audience.
Programmes like:
"Dancing on Ice"
"Strictly Come Dancing"
and now "Mr & Mrs"
(I think there are a couple of others too).
With slick production, theatrical sets, second-tier tv stars as contestants and a big overdose of piped clapping and cheering, the tv companies have re-invented these failures of the 70s.
Personally, I think they're awful, but the format must be working because the tv companies seem to be resurrecting more of these old programmes.
