I know I havene't been around much lately . . . but don't mistake that for "lack of interest". I've been watchin' every feckin game available. I've also been listening. At least whenever I can I can get that feckin ".com" website to feckin work!
But seriously folks, there could have been so many "titles" for this thread . . . "Busby Babes Return", "Be afraid . . . very afraid! etc. etc."
For those of you like me, and I know you're out there, who have "been there, done that" wrt to United, this re-amirms what we've been thinking perhaps hoping for for a while now. A young, exiting team at the point of explosion!
The back four I've been dreaming of . . . O'Shea - Brown - Blanc - Sivestre; A blend of Speed, intelligence, height, desire and experience but not necessarily in that oder. (Sorry Gary, sorry Phil . . . as always, continue to be willing to "fill-in" when necessary)
Ferdinand waiting to come back is simply a natural replacement for Larry White but I hope Sir Alex can convince the veteran to stick around aat least one more year . . . even if it's just to provide experience, watch and "stand by" just in case.
Giggsy alive, perfectly unshaven & well. Probably due, at least in part, to Wales' success in Europe, along side a rejuvinated Scholes who was nothing short of majestic today.
A solid gane by Fortune who made few mistakes, complimented by Diego who's effort to out-work everyone could not go un-noticed.
Ruuuuuud, three well taken goals, but still IMO, a player who's "best" is still to come...just give him time to "mature". :
Irrepressible Ole. You cannot, not love this man! I'm sure he believes he was born in the "Stretford End" and to this day he lives and dies by red he wears.
Having said all that, besides the flair we showed going forward today includng the clever introduction and use of Richardson, my full praise must be reserved for what warmed my heart the most. A very special back four . . . a fit Wes Brown beside the inimitable Blanc, whose picture appears when you look up "cool as a cucumber". (Can Rio fill these shoes? Yes, of course he can!) And as for Sivestre, I have a few words for the decision makers . . . just feckin sign him, for fecks sakes!
And what can one say about O'Shea? . . . a young lad, playing like he's been around for decades. The Republic can think of themselves as very, very fortunate. We'll just put it down to "scouting" <img src="graemlins/smirk.gif" border="0" alt="[Smirk]" />
Bartez could not be faulted today; as has been said already, the first a fortunate miskick, the second, as good as any free kick you'll ever see, while the third was preventable (but not by Bartez)
In closing let me just say to the many "nay-sayers" I've read while "lurking" on this and other sites; "feck OFF!"
Never slag the lads and don't ever try to second guess Fergie, you should know better. If we happen to have a couple of seasons that are "mediocre" compared to recent years, just look at today and witness the future. No wonder the boss wants to stay at OT. He has been anticipating what we witnessed today. "Fergies Babes Reborn"
Don't be surprised if we win everything this year but if we don't, "don't worry, be happy" When all all else fails, go to sleep at night and remember,
