Who would have thought that a country so small could achieve so much.

With only 3 million People against lets say 58 million in GB, its some win ratio. GB would want to come home with something like 58 medals to be on the same per capita strike ratio....

If only the Olympics allowed our Boxers enter more events like say Cyclists. Maybe have a competition like 5 rounds at 30 secs a round, one where someone enters the ring on a bike and the boxers run after him and then when the bike leaves they pummel the shit of each other or a tag team boxing event.

The sense of pride in you right now must be through the roof Baz.

Street parties all over Ireland.

Indeed - No other country in these olympics games can have a better per head strike rate as Ireland

The Republic of Ireland population is estimated to be over 4.4mil. So thats 1 bronze 1.45mil people.

Roughly 3 million Irish Nationals, that can compete for Ireland.

You think the whole population is Irish

4.4M? there's no way there's that many Irish people in the ROI. besides the amount of immigrants that would compete for their home countries dwindles the real amount down to about 3.5M. fact! *

*or not

edit, just saw the above.

LOL...dilusional.

Jamaica - population 2.8 million : 3 GOLDS 3 SILVERS and more to come.

4th gold by Jamaica in Women's 400m Hurdles. Very well done, she looked so relaxed.

Well all the horses in the Equestrian are Irish bred.

I reckon we should get the medal for that, It's the horses that do the fecking work.

:smirk:

since when did everyone suddenly become interested in Jamica all of a sudden.

Of course Jamaica would be better then the Irish. I was referring to a White populated Nation who is opressed by its neighbour, who stole the food on our table and sent our sons accross the seas to work.

I'm sure that when Baz claimed that Ireland had the best medal per capita, he was discluding all these countries.

Transforming a weak economy into one of the most thriving in the world in under a decade.

Winning wars is another one.

Plus don't forget we are the leading all time winners of the Eurovision song contest!!

you'd just be booted out again unfortunately.

Perhaps try America though, that'd be an interesting conquest.

You're pissing into the wind here pal, a lot of English people on this site wont have a fecking clue what you're on about. In my experience of having to live among them, any mention of said conflict(s) will result in some confused shrugging. I'm afraid if they're not taught about it in school and there aren't a wealth of patriotic films about it with catchy theme tunes, it couldn't possibly have happened.

Apologies to any better informed English folk but this is just what i have experienced.

don't worry man I know the futility of saying such things I live in the UK at the moment, and have been in the education system for several years.

I did history through GCSE and A-level and heard no mention of the British Empire, let alone the war of independence. But the little jibes are fun all the same.
