Dont know about Heaton Park, but Slane usually gets between 80,000 - 100,000.

I shall be going to one of the heaton park gigs, I can’t imagine tickets being a problem to get hold of with there being two days and the size of the place.
Last time I went there for a "gig", I was only about 14, it was one of those really shit party in the park things. There was REALLY bad pushing and people at the front were getting hurt badly so they quickly stopped proceedings. They then made everyone sit down so they could create some space. After much fannying about (they even put "Sit Down" by James on) everyone eventually sat down except for 1 bloke.
Some jumped up presenter then took over the mic and encouraged everyone to start booing this bloke for "spoiling it for everyone". Carnage quickly ensued with 100s of people throwing bottles, cups of piss & food et al at him.
It all ended in tears, when it turned out this guy had a disability and couldn’t sit down. A swift apology was announced by said jumped up presenter, and carnage round 2 ensued with everyone throwing stuff at him.
Very funny indeed.

Saw them support REM there in 95 just before they got really big...
I was at that one as well. It was just before Whats the Story came out. they blew REM off the stage that day......going to miss this one it looks like though......
