Anyone watching? Its a lively wicket, Sri Lanka are 55/5 in second innings, a much better game to watch than those dead, flat Aussie Ashes tracks

25 wickets have fallen in less than days. at this rate the game will be wrapped up by lunch tomorrow. lively wicket indeed!

good performance from us. Great to see Bond back, and *****lin, Oram and Martin backed him up very well. I was a bit gutted about the performance of the SLs to be honest, theyve got some quality batsmen and a lot of them got out playing stupid shots. Btw, did anyone see the Mulitharin run out? It was one of the funniest things Ive seen; Sangakarra completed his hundred with a single, Muliritharin left his crease to shake his hand with the ball still in play, the ball got thrown into Mcullum and he knocked the bails off, and Mulitharin was run out. The look on the Sri Lankans faces was priceless.

Test cricket is more entertaining if played on bouncy tracks or on the minefields.
Bowlers win matches in Tests and Batters in the ODI's..So tracks should be made to make the game more result oriented.

They really don't want test matches finishing in three days Vij - finances?

PS: Great to see Bond back to full fitness...

Apparently its one of those drop in pitches as NZ dont have any purpose built cricket grounds, they are all rugby stadiums and they all use drop in pitches. Bond is lively, shame he is so injury prone

We do have built cricket grounds for cricket only, one being a very good pitch; Basin Reserve. I take you didn't watch the game Guv, because it wasn't a case of the pitch being very green and unplayable. The Sri Lankans played crap cricket and for players of their calibre I was very disapointed. Some of them played very irresponsibly and got out to awful shots. Three of the Sri Lankans were run out in the second innings as well, which has nothing to do with the state of the pitch. Kumar Sangakarra played a brilliant innings as did Vettori in our first innings, both demonstrating batting could be easy if the batsmen just showed a bit of grit.

The game itself was still a good game of cricket, and was far more enjoyable then the first Ashes test. (the end of the 2nd Ashes was a very good game of cricket however)

Sad but true :( . It was a pathetic performance by our batsmen and they didn't give Murali any sort of help.

The second test looks quite good so far, all credit to Sanga for playing an excellent innings, shame none of the other batsmen apart from Chamara helped him out. Hopefully if we get a lead in the first innings and bat well in the second we will be able to win the test.
