 Poor thread title, but perhaps it is justified.

Yeah, the NRL has arrived, round 1 is over and many think St. George are still the team to beat.

Predictions/opinions on the season ahead?

 I laughed.

Surprised to see Wests get turned over on the weekend. South Sydney still provide a bucket of laughs too, and will continue to do so until time collapses.

They're like Liverpool, Inglis was meant to be their "final piece" hah

Spent a lot of time going to Bruce Stadium to watch the Raiders play over the years....Stadium almost never sold out, so tickets at the gate...and then heading down to the leagues club afterwards for a few cold ones.

We'll be decent and nothing more, tough holding on to players here, they all want to go play in Sydney

They have set the benchmark for the league with their smart administration and responsible book-keeping.

They basically got rumbled last season for keeping two sets of books for ages and rorted the salary cap by some amount.

Nothing major.

Canterbury look quite strong on paper and I feel could be the biggest obstacle to St.George retaining the premiership. If Hodkinson and Tolman fulfill their potential along with Idris and Morris, they should be a force to be reckoned with. Eastwood will add a lot to their pack aswell as long as he doesn't get into the sulking mode he was in for the majority of his time at Leeds.

South Sydney have a strong pack, have added Inglis to their backline, but IMO will not live up to their billing this season. They just flatter to deceive far too often to back with any confidence.
