If it was a Real Madrid presidential candidate claiming this, I'd be worried. Barcelona don't have the money to buy Ruud or Beckham no matter what they claim. And why would either go to a side in decline with no chance of European football when they have all they want at Old Trafford?
Having said that, a move for Beckham looks far more likely. If he does move - and I'm not saying it's likely at all - I wouldn't expect it until August after the USA Tour, not before the June 30 deadline Barcelona are claiming.

I think it is possible that Beckham will go to Barcelona. In these elections it does not matter that the club has no cash, the presidential candidate injects cash and to gain the votes needed comes in with big promises which he normally keeps in order to save face.

The Beckham links are therefore quite credible especially if Man Utd. want to sell. Candidates would probably be willing to pay over the top in order to get in.

As far as the Ruud links, I'm sure we would not sell. He has become an essential wheel in our team.
