Discussion Your Lineup Prediction

  • Knowing our luck we’ll lose a bunch more players to injury over the break.

A point here would be a very good result - they are one of the best-managed teams in the PL right now: score freely and concede very few

Being objective, the 3-0 score line versus Leicester flattered us a bit, they could/should have scored a couple and actually outdid us on xG. I should worry about this game but I think their style, which will give us a lot of the ball, will really play into our hands.

    0-2 loss

A draw won’t be diabolical, given their form and how good they’ve been at home.

Depending on who plays i could just see them kill us on set pieces and it being a comfortable and straighforward win for them.

I reckon we'll lose this one. Our mini run of late has just been papering over cracks. Would be really glad to be proven wrong.

Has it? I see this phrase usually used when we've got results where we didn't really deserve it or play well. But we played well against Arsenal, both Sociedad games and Leicester.

Hopefully no injuries in the lead up to this.
    Hojlund
    Zirkzee Garnacho
    Dorgu Bruno Ugarte Dalot
    Yoro De Ligt Mazraoui
    Onana
Sh ok uld actually have a decent bench for this, possibly? Mount, Eriksen, Casemiro at least from the senior guys. Actually Case will probably start with Ugarte playing for Uruguay

Forest have their FA Cup Quarter-final three days before this so hopefully that goes to extra-time.

idk, maybe i'm just jaded from getting my hopes up and then crashing back down to earth. I'd love to see the boys go on a run in the league and the Europa.

I think as people have said, it'll be a good test - regardless of the result if we can compete with them properly on the pitch, it'll show the real progress.

It would if we put in a good performance. It’s all about our performances and how we play nowadays. We can’t be getting dominated and create very little. If we put in a good shift and get unlucky and come out with a draw then it’s a good result

Perfect game to gauge where we are at. Good opponent, but not too good.
Very good opponent this season. Beat city and the only team to beat Liverpool at anfield. And drew to them at home. Got draws against Arsenal and Chelsea also. Be a very tough game for us. But I still think it’s a one season wonder for forest and they’ll finish bottom half next year.

It ends 2-2, and the player, who many fans are going to love again soon, is going to score - Højlund.

If Mazraoui is fit, why for the love of god would we subject ourselves to Lindelof again?

Mazraoui better as a full back, not as a central defender.

We don’t play with fullbacks and Mazroui offers absolutely nothing as a wingback.

His best football this year has exclusively come as one of the 2 wider centre backs.

Ok, wingback. Same situation is this discussion

They’re absolutely not the same situation. Fullback and Wingback are entirely separate positions - especially in the system we play.

I don’t understand how anybody could watch him play football and honestly think he’s better at wingback than he is at centre back?

What has he done at wingback to give you that opinion? He’s been relatively faultless at CB, but every time we’ve had to play him wider for lack of fit, available options, that flank has been a complete non-entity in terms of attack.

The fact we’ve had to rely on him and Dalot as wingbacks so often since Amorim arrived is IMO, the single biggest contributing factor to our struggles in attack.

    It's 100% the same situation:
    - Lindelöf is still better than Mazraoui in central defense.

    - Mazraoui is still better as a wingback than Lindelöf.

Furthermore, it is debatable whether we actually play with wingbacks in all matches. That is certainly the goal, but there have also been matches where we have not actually played with wingbacks, as I see it.

    - Lindelöf is still better than Mazraoui in central defense.

    Simply not true.

    - Mazraoui is still better as a wingback than Lindelöf.

True, by virtue of simply being a better footballer than Lindelof in any position on the pitch.

It’s not like you’re picking him at WB because the team needs it though - you had him on the bench. There’s no conceivable reason in my mind that you’d start with Max on the bench so you can start Lindelof.

Thankfully, as we can see from his selections all season, Amorim agrees.

Mazraoui has been really good at RCB - he’s a much better option as part of the back 3 over Lindelof. Without a doubt.

And possibly one or two performances aside, he hasn’t been as good as a wingback.
