Not long now befors the new F1 season starts......can't wait.
Going to be a good season for Ferrari me feels. What with everyone on Bridgestones, Kimi replacing Schumi, Massa looking brilliant in practice and Alonso set really shit lap times at Vodaphone McLaren (why did he go there  )

he wasn't getting along with the people at renault anymore. can't see ferrari losing this year but yeah still looking forward to it.

Can't wait tbh, really good to see Kimi in red, as well as the new Ferrari looking superb.

The Renault looks absolutely rubbish though

Is watching cars going around in circles really that interesting?

to be honest, my love for F1 died with the passing of the great Ayrton Senna.

Legend. Sorely missed.

He would have been stupid not to move away from Renault. They were grossly underpaying him per most reports. From the Times when the last season began -

Flavio Briatore, his team principal at Renault, makes no bones about the fact that Alonso will not be showered with cash nor will he be able to hold the French squad to ransom. There will be none of the $30 million (about £16 million) salary that Michael Schumacher commands from Ferrari, nor even a shareout comparable to Räikkönen, his closest rival.

Even Ralf Schumacher — apparently getting about $20 million a year at lowly Toyota — is thought to be worth more than the champion. In fact, recent estimates say Alonso might be on as little as £3 million a year.

“Formula One is not a one-man band,” Briatore says. “We would never pay a driver big money to come to us. We don’t pay $20 million or $30 million for one man. There are 800 people in this company and everything they do is important to the result we get on a Sunday afternoon. Always I try to create a driver for this team, this business and, at the moment, we have the best driver for less money.”

My question was maybe a bit blunt. I know the money side of things had a big say, but Alonso has always stressed his desire to win as many championships as possible and I don't think Mclaren are in a position to deliver.

I agree, and Ferrari wasn't in a position to win when Michael went there either.
How did that one turn out again?

It's all seems to be a bit of an anticlimax without Michael Schumacher anymore. He dominted the sport as much as Federer is doing in tennis at the moment...

Not in the last 2 years he didn't. I think it's been good for the sport that Alonso won last season, because, if Schumacher had won and left, like you say, it would be an anticlimax.

I was confident about Raikonnen winning the title in the upcoming season but apparently the McClaren is looking good, and many key background members at Ferrari are rumoured to soon be following Schumacher through the exit door.

Well the McClaren is suppose to look good every year including last season but Raikonnen would have been world champ in 2005 if it was not for that car breaking down all the time. In 07 I will pick Raikonnen but don't rule out Massa last year he started of pretty bad but in the second half of the season really started to show his quality.

looking forward with great anticipation. I'll be looking to see how hamilton and kovaleinin fare, plus with nico rosberg in his 2nd season and kubica looking quite good at the end of last season.

I think filipe massa has what it takes to go from being a good driver, to a world class driver though so he's my darkhorse for the WDC, though im not a big fezza fan.
