I have sent a message to FSW to beg them to show at least the same coverage they have been providing our Canadian neighbors. If you look on
SOCCERTV.COM those to the north of us are getting live games every week. Please send a message begging for more coverage.

Think we do pretty well over here Man Utd. I've been able to see every Utd league game bar 2 for the season. Fox show 2 games on the weekend along with 2 payperviews. There's never been such PL coverage. It's amazing. It's in the Champions League that we're being screwed on. We need to concentrate any efforts on ESPN as they are the only N Am franchise allowed to show it.
They took Wednesday Champions League off and replaced it with skateboarding!

It's not a matter of them not wanting to show the same games in the US as they show in Canada. It's more of a licensing issue. TSN and FSW have different broadcasting rights.

correct, because they've licensed things as such - probably because there's a much greater per capita interest in football in Canada than there is in the US.
 
I think we who inhabit the US get a fair amount of coverage. Indeed, when I came here I feared I wouldn't get to see much football, but in fact it is just the opposite. We get live games in mid-week, games on two-hour delay on Saturday & Sunday, and also live games on PPV. Throw in the 'Soccer Show' and we have it made. Just goes to show the amount of people involved with football in this country is growing. I know I'm not complaining.

In the coming age of PPV on demand and 500+ channels I find it appalling that I cant get the "game" i want to see. The satellite is in view to me so my thought is if i am willing to pay why cant i see the game i want? Please remember what is was like only 5 years ago in the states, NO COVERAGE. We must continue to ask for more coverage all the time. You saw what FSW did to the weekly EPL show. Surely you could take a few minutes to drop them a line and thank them for showing the games but ask them to get us more

I know that we can receive the Express-Vu signal here in Southern California.

I and many others have been writing to FOX,ESPN,UEFA,FIFA for years now to no avail as far as we know. The replies we got back were all the same." We appreciate you valued communication, we will be considering your opinions, etc. blah,blah,blah." You are right when you say to take a few minutes and drop them a line.
It takes a lot of us to continue writing as often as possible. The trouble is a few write to these people after a game has not been shown and then let it drop. ESPN etc. know this, they know it will die down. What WE have to do is keep a continual bombardment at these people and not just by writing to them but mention it in other forums, news letters etc.
I am having an ongoing tirade with UEFA about objecting to ESPN and to have their broadcast rights given to an organization that would show the games, probally some one like Fox S World.
Please do the same. The more mail they get on a continual basis the more they will listen. I am currently sending them 3 a week.! I will hopefully be offered a position on the board just to shut me up.!! :D ;)

RED sun. Is that a DSS type of satellite, meaning do you need the 18 inch dish, or is this a big dish c-ku band type signal. Is the signal encrypted do you need set top box like DIRECTV.
 
You can pick up the Express-Vu signal with a DISH network dish & receiver. You just need to point the dish in a different direction and get the correct card from Canada.

Dunno. I'm discovering that Dish is much better than DirecTV since they offer various International packages, as well as the standard PPV stuff. If it's possible to pick up Express-Vu on it as well then it's well worth the bargin. Plus I think Dish have more satellites in orbit than DirecTV.
 
These guys have a great site with masses of info about Canadian dish system, yes express vu is the way to go.

They will set it up for you to get around the problem of you being outside US but you can't get any ppv as you have to have a tel number to order. Not a problem if you are going to keep dish too but I think they have better porn to access.

Be very careful about these types of websites. The Feds recently set up a fake hacker web site, collected tons of info from perspective buyers and resellers and then lowered the boom. There is an FBI sting operation designed to get as many pirate system users as possible.
 
Raoul's right about going to web sites offering goodies. Anyway I got DISH for the very resons you are talking about. They do have more. They've had the Sunday pay per view game on every week whereas Directv gasn't. I also got it to get Belle Express-vu 'cos that's where FSW Canada lives. Unfortunately f*d up my card 'cos apparantly locked into the wrwong satelite. Anyway locked in on the other now with the redone but am trying to get this guy out to put it the other way, even if there's less other programming.

JR did i read you right that they will send us the receiver here in the USA so we can watch bell. I went on the website and for approx 26 dollars a month i can get tsn fsw canada and sportsnet. Champions league games and EPL applenty. I sent the canadian dish guys an e-mail to see if they can provide me this. We will see. Just got to think how i am going to hook it up. Exactly, they will ship to the US and bill to some a PO Box they set up. I saw Raoul's comments about FBI but I have been back and forth with those guys I gave link to for years now. I don't think the FBI would go as far as calling themselves Phillippe and use a French Canadian accent.

Like I said though, you will not be able to get PPV which is what put me off (they have lots more than us) plus their new BBC Canada is not as good as BBC America. If they get wind of you being in US they will disconnect the system.

Yes, the price is cheap, it's at least half price for the programming you get. Equipment slightly more expensive.

I went Dish and am happy. Got a 2 receiver system for $99 installed myself and get $21 off bill every month for a year (a lot of cheap deals you ownly rent equipment).
 
There is a show on Tech TV (DirecTV chan 354) called cybercrime. They did an entire show on piracy this week. Rather one sided, but well worth checking out. There might be a rerun on this week.
 
feck ESPN, feck UEFA, feck FIFA and feck all the knobhead pricks that make the decisions that WE WILL NOT be seeing critical CL Games.

EMail them all, send letters,carrier pigeons or whatever. Tell them what a load of short sighted ,fat ugly bastards they are.
Tell UEFA you object very strongly that ESPN is NOT sevicing the football poulation of the USA.and they should have the broadcating rights removed. :mad: :mad:
 
i live in Westchester, NY so have 2 haul ass to Nevada Smith's in Manhattan every wkend and pay $10 on the door. i love the atmosphere there but it's killing me! ne1 know of anywhere closer/cheaper?

btw, could someone tell me why they (ESPN) show highlights of the f'kin Mavs Lakers NBA game @ half time rather than the goals from the previous days games?

I think we should be bugging that Swiss company that sold the rights to ESPN rather than UEFA.
