He's also has a chance to hit 50 non penalty goals in all competitions. Nobody besides Messi in 2012 and in 2013 has done it in the modern era, as far as I know.

My opinions have nothing to do with the club Messi plays for nor his nationality as I've never been a Barcelona fan nor am I Argentine. It has absolutely to do with the fact that in my unbiased opinion, he is easily the best I've ever seen so much so that when anyone claims someone else is better I find it very surprising. It has everything to do with football.
And in those 2 finals, I totally supported United.
The thing is, that's a totally valid opinion, but thinking he's the best player ever shouldn't totally bias your opinions when it comes to him. It shouldn't suddenly make you think that the world cup should be more important than a treble while breaking multiple records set pre-war if you wouldn't think this with another player. Moroccco reached the semi finals of the world cup, how many of their players should be making the ballon d'or shortlist? After all if the world cup is so much more important that a player winning it but having a fairly average club season can beat a player who wins a treble and breaks goalscoring records, then surely minnows reaching the semi finals should be shortlisted?

Well obviously that would be great but the league looks done, and tbh I think a league title and a champions league should still be enough really to win it. I mean if the WC is so important, then how high should haaland come in the ballon d'or according to you? Can't be ahead of Di Maria, he was great in the final, can't be ahead of modric, he helped Croatia to the semi final, and Madrid to a champions league semi final. Ok I'm exaggerating a little, but I mean if France win the penalty shootout, has haaland suddenly played better than Messi even if Messi scored his penalty and it was his teammates that let him down? Clearly a good world cup should have some weighting in the ballon d'or, but it is still just 7 games, the first 3 of which are almost always against weaker opposition.
Even let's take this to an extreme, Messi in 10-11 with the 2010 world cup had it happened in winter, vs Messi in 22-23 with the 2022 world cup. Is the 35 year old Messi better? Did he play better or have a better season? He's likely to win a league and a world cup while 2010 Messi was out fairly early in that world cup without contributing much, which of those seasons was better?
The world cup is definitely something that should hold weight, but not to the point of overriding a last 16 champions league exit against another player who's doing extremely well in a much tougher domestic league and the champions league

He's an average passer and an average creator. His linkup play is average as well, but does the job. He leads the line, gets fed as the main goal scorer, and scores an obscene amount of goals due to the quality service and his elite goal scoring prowess within the box.
If Harry Kane is the excellent playmaker as a CF, who by the way has 25 league goals, then what does that make Haaland in terms of playmaking ability from the CF position...100% not an excellent playmaker, not even close.

Haaland is a lot of things, but play making isn’t one of them. Far from it. There was a good reason he was getting so little touches every game recently and not involved in build up. Just being able to pass the ball consistently and successfully doesn’t make one a playmaker.
