Ferguson's January dilemma

Sir Alex Ferguson is faced with a difficult task when the transfer window opens in January even if he has the cash in hand to add to his squad.

Speculation has been rife that United will move on a number of possible targets, including a new striker and a full back.

Although bolstered by the thought of a cash injection from progression in the Champions League and the recent news that United's profits have again increased.

However, finding a world-class striker or defender who has not yet played in Europe is no easy task, as Ferguson explained.

"People seem to think it will be easy when the transfer window opens, and the next phase of the Champions League comes along, and you can go out and add to your squad," Sir Alex said.

"The opportunities are not as great as everyone thinks. But when you look at the number of players playing in European competition this term it limits you very, very much," added Ferguson.

I've just found the above news. If Fergie really thinks that way that's a pity. I honestly believe that we no longer need to look for more big reputation sigining anymore. Some nice, potential guys who can strengthen the depth of our squad are what we need. Look at what Wengar got in these two years: Sol Campbell for free. WC winner Gilberto for a few millions, and Vieira, Pires and Lunjeburg were also signed cheaply. We spent 28m on Veron yet Gooners can get all the five players I mentioned above for the same amount of money. That tell us money can't buy success and we should search for bargain and potential buys from some lesser clubs when the transfer window reopen.

Yea our current strikers aren't exactly Skillful or even very pacey, so a nice young fast skillful striker would be great.
