Kids are all obviously very different so no generalization but I always have the voice of my cousin in the back of my head who, with two much older sons (~12 and 17yo), basically mentions gaming as the major impact to his kids (Fifa now) and rhe gates of hell. I also didn‘t forget how it affected myself when I got a NES back in the day - had no gameboy.

I do sometimes worry about this. I don’t want them to hand no attention span or fried dopamine receptors. On the other hand, I’d like them tech savvy to hopefully get an advantage in what I think will be a drastically different job market when they’re adults. My eldest is currently making power point presentations at age 7 and I’ll teach him basic videography soon. Plus some initial teaching on AI.

Both of my boys are very physical and social too - lots of sport and activity. I’m incredibly pleased with how they are turning out in general.

It’s not easy though. There’s a lot in society that can lead people down bad paths and it’s hard always to anticipate what we might be doing to negatively impact upon them. I got divorced last year so my main focus has been getting them through that. So far, so good.

I think the main thing I want them wary of as they get older is porn as I feel it’s incredibly destructive at a young age and the current stats on age of first exposure is shocking.

Anyway, I digress. Back to gaming :)
