I doubt they'll even call it the Switch 2, but the title can always be changed.

Nintendo have reacted to new leaked images, but haven't denied it.
Likely we will see a full reveal in next week or so ahead of an April launch.

What do we know?

Magnetic Joy-cons?

Backward compatibility?

Rumoured third party games at launch.

Elden Ring.

Final Fantasy 7.

Red Dead Redemption 2.

Original switch launched at €330 didn't it? Do you think Nintendo can hit a similar price point. I'm guessing it will be €400

So you made this thread with no official announcement?

This should be a bannable offence
For once I agree with the horsechoker.

Skipped the first iteration - here's hoping they don't change the basic formula.

More interested to know what the first party launch game will be.

Would love for it to be Metroid Prime 4 but don’t think the IP is popular enough to create a buzz. Will likely be a Mario game.

think it will be called Switch 2 - hasnt the Logo leaked as well?

And as for price point. Im gonna say €400- €450

Reckon release games will be Metroid Prime 4 and new 3D Mario game

I still really want TP and Wind Waker remasters too

Mario Odyssey sequel/new mainline mario game i reckon

Mario Kart sequel to follow in the quarter after like smash bros did for Switch original

Both games are overdue for new games so I can only think they've been holding off for the switch 2 release period

Also expect Metroid Prime 4, Wind Waker remaster and Pokémon Z/A first dlc pack within first six months/one year of release.

Edit: My dad works at Nintendo

It will be called Switch 2, that is all but confirmed. First time ever Nintendo won’t mess around with the naming convention and confuse everyone. Also going to be backwards compatible.

Expecting this to launch late Q1 or sometime in Q2, and have a new 3D Mario at launch, plus new Mario Kart soon after or at the same time. Other than that I don’t care, it’s a day one buy for me and I’ll probably spend 100+ hours with Mario even before I get down to other games.

My father is a Nintenton and he just confirmed to me that it's definitely called the Switch 2.

Let’s hope the joycons can actually go a month without breaking this time.

How have they gotten away with selling a clearly faulty item for 7 years
God forbid you emulate one of their games though or they'll sue you into oblivion

Various outlets suggesting Switch 2 will be announced this week. 15th announcement, 16th full reveal, apparently.

With May/June release date, but no games to be shown on Thursday - just hardware, with games reveal coming in late Feb / early Mar. I was hoping for this to release much earlier (Q1) but I still have so much to play on my Switch that I guess I can live with this.

There seems to be so much wasted screen real estate with that screen. Why not maximize the size rather than the border? If they're legit

I’m hoping, for the sake of my 4 year old, that a Mario game is previewed. We’ve basically completed Odyssey and he did a lot of it himself. It’s been a great experience.

Needs to be a completely new Mario Kart. Away with the red shell! And in with some innovation and fresh ideas.

About time they brought F-Zero back, too.

You’d think they have a solid and varied array of titles lined up with their first party leads bringing oomph to the table.

Need this to come out in June so it can accompany me on a slew of long haul flights in the upcoming months, whilst my Switch gets palmed off to others in the travelling parties.

Probably battery which appears to be one of their priorities. They could make the console much smaller but it’d be at a cost of battery. Current Switch has excellent battery life.

Maybe they'll call it the Nintendo Sub or Nintendo Dom, depending on if it is expected to be superior or weaker in sales compared to the Switch.

Running gag aside (heh), I do believe Nintendo will be showing the hardware in a short trailer this week just to appease people. Maybe it was the plan all along, but I wouldn't be surprised if they've decided to split their announcement into two or three videos instead.

Unsure when the machine will release but I'm still expecting first half of this year. I thought March for the longest time but I'm leaning more toward April or May now.

Can I ask what age your little one got the hang of it?

I grew up with Nintendo and want to get one for the little one eventually, but figured I’d be waiting ‘til 5+.

Personally not seeing the benefit to introduce children that early to gaming. That being said, my daughter got 8yo in Dec and I'm probably getting the Switch 2.

Probably just the last 2 or 3 months really (turned 4 in October). He's made very quick progress though and is now incredibly good. I think it's because he watches videos of someone else playing it and so has learnt that way.

I hear you. Personal preference I suppose. I started when I was 5. It probably doesn't help either that he has a 7 year old brother and they are very close so he gets involved in what his brother does (although his bro is more into EAFC as opposed to Mario).

Kids are all obviously very different so no generalization but I always have the voice of my cousin in the back of my head who, with two much older sons (~12 and 17yo), basically mentions gaming as the major impact to his kids (Fifa now) and rhe gates of hell. I also didn‘t forget how it affected myself when I got a NES back in the day - had no gameboy.

But I see regularily parents rolling into restaurants these days handing their 2yo kids immediately smartphones to watch something and stay quiet. Don‘t like that one bit. (But yes, my older daughter is literally driving us crazy with her obsession of watching tv so I‘m quite biased - funnily enough, once we put that tv away altogether she quickly forgets about it too). And agreed, the younger ones do have way more leeway obviously.

Off topic and yes, I do love gaming.
