Nikola Maksimovic is on his way out at Torino. The talented Serbian center back had been linked to Napoli, but after the partenopei's recent contacts with the granata there is significant distance between the clubs. The new contender for the defender is Manchester United, the English club completed the deal with Torino for Darmian just last summer- it's possible that a year later Maksimovic could join him in England.

Honestly never heard of him but if it's Di Mazrio there must be weight in this.

We've really been looking at the Italian market recently; Darmian, Rumoured rejected bid for Koulibaly, Felipe Anderson interest and now this guy.

No thanks, last defender we got from Torino who no one had ever heard of, Darmain.

He seems to be a good player, according to the one time I saw him and his stats. Plays on the right of Torino's back three.

Last time we bought an unknown player who played CB, a Serbian, turned out pretty good and had pretty good career with United. Would he turn out to be the next one?

He's only had 7 caps in 4 years so I'm not sure our Serbian posters will know much about him either.

Having low caps for Serbian national team doesnt mean anything negative imo.Maybe he refused to pay his spot like some (there were always a stories about that in the past),God forbid if you cant get caps because you have CB beasts in front of you in picking order like Dusko fecking Tosic or Nenad Tomovic,Stefan Mitrovic...

He'd also had a very good game for Italy against England playing LWB before (or was it during?) the Euros when he rinsed Clyne and that generated a lot of buzz.

Yeah, people here were raving about Darmian long before we signed him. He was always one of the signings people thought would be ideal.
I only watched him around 10 or so times before he signed for us. And he's better than his shown to be for us thus far but for whatever reason he's not translated it well. Tbf to him though, a few players have struggled. So he's not alone.

Incidentally, the first time I saw him play, was for Italy, against England at WC 2014. He was quality iirc.

He's got a name that makes me think he's a big hard Serbian defender.

Get him signed.

This is a signing I would love. This guy is tough as nails, very complete centre back. Reminds you of a certain someone.

Never heard of him until this thread, but if Di Marzio rates him we should buy immediately.

He starts tonight in friendly game vs Poland for those interested to watch. Please Poland trash us so we can get rid of this national coach clown.

My mate who is from Turin and Torino supporter say that he is perfect for the Premier League. He compares him to Ivanovic - big, strong and fast. Napoli spent all of the winter transfer window trying to buy him, making offers as high as 18m but Torino wanted 25m so he stayed.
