Genius or not?

Genius for me.
The new album, Dig!!! Lazarus Dig!!!, is a great one. Not the best ever by him and the Bad Seeds but still excellent.
 
Incredibly intelligent musician and a good writer too if "And The Ass Saw The Angel" is anything to go by. His music only occasionally cuts it for me as it's not really my style though, too dark and brooding goth for me where I like my rock with a kick.

His music in Wim Wenders' "Wings of Desire" sounded fantastic though as it suited the mood of the piece and he did manage to give Kylie the only remotely cool track in her repertoire with their duet on "Where The Wild Roses Grow"
 
I just downloaded the albumn and I'll try to give it a listen soon.

I like him generally.

These would be my choices but tastes are very different between Cave fans, some for example still think his Birthday Party years are the best but that's too much punk for me really

As you can see here his work with the Bad Seeds alone stretches back more than 24 years now
