good news - hockey's back in town
bad news - tickets (i don't think it's just the Leafs, i think is the whole NHL) all sold out. well not really but if you buy tickets from e-bay it might cost you $150 sitting on the 3rd deck.

can't wait to see the Sidney Crosby/Mario Lemieux line

I've checked Ticketmaster for Tampa Bay home games and for 3rd deck it's running $64, and we're the Cup holders. Season tickets still on sale for $699.

Leafs tickets are available for the season ticket holders only. and i can't believe they have season tickets on sale over in Tampa Bay. we lots have to wait on the season ticket list for at least 10 years..:smirk:

Fortunately, I'm a Rangers fan, so I don't have to worry about hockey after early May. The closest team to here would be San Jose, but the 200 mile drive or so puts a damper on buying tickets and attending matches.

Come on AVS!!!!

Oh and sign a new goalkeeper ffs

I don't know why you guys are moaning over ticket prices for, I've already started looking for tickets for the end of March in Edmonton. Before that I need to find £400 at least for my airfare..... It's like near enough $1000cdn for 3 hockey games.

Young team, and after a years absence, they're probably waiting to see what we do. Stupid I know.

are they going through with any of the proposed rule changes?

i know they were considering a penalty shootout at the end of overtime in regular season matches and a few other decisions i think involving two line passes or something.

the 2 line pass involving the red center line is finally gone

cheers mate

the shootouts will be an interesting way to end games in overtime, looking forward to seeing that. is there still a point awarded for an overtime defeat?

dont understand the rule about the goalie only being able to play the puck in a designated area behind his net. cant the goalie go whereever he pleases, just he's liable to being checked?

also, dont know how making the goal closer to the back boards will impact play. i kind of liked having space behind the goal to work plays, but it should be interesting to see the game with a tighter section behind the goal to operate.

if a player accenditally clear the puck into the stand the refs are going to call that 'delay game penalty' funny huh...

It's a matter of time before the ref's revert back to how it was prior to the lock-out in terms of calling, or the players wise up to the new rules. I find it hard to think the players will alter, half of them aren't the brightest sparks in the world. Crimes half of them make our football players like Oxbridge graduates.

I'm in favour of this penalty shot at the end of the game, mainly as the Oilers have won a couple of games through them. The amount of penalties is high and the flow of the games is disjointed right now, but time will tell how these alterations will work.
