Can't wait for the season to start. Going to be another interesting season. I won't make any predictions yet, especially before pre-season is completed, players released and some placed on IR, and rosters are set.

Breaking news: Quincy Carter released by the Cowboys

Apparently from substance abuse violation, his second offense (first occurred during his last season in college according to one report).

Surprising. Maybe Drew Henson is looking better in camp than expected? Can´t see Vinny being the starter for some reason. If Quincy is in our price range, I wouldn´t mind getting him on board as Plummer´s back up.

The Evil Empire is about to waive Tim Brown. Shame he couldn´t retire in silver ´n black. Just about the only guy on the Raiders who I wanted to get a ring. Timmy Brown is a Dallas boy and wants to return there ... after his career at the latest. Hm. Bad news is that Jerry Porter will feature more now, a guy I really like. Broncos coaches are absolutely blown away by what Darius Watts is doing in camp.

I definitely could see Tim playing a season or two in Dallas, but would there be enough ball for Meshawn, baby Bryant, and Glenn girl? Not to mention the next Jay Novacek in Jason Whitten. I'd love to see Tim in Dallas though. I've always been a fan of his and he was dumb resiging with Oakland back in the late 90s instead of taking Denver's offer. Or was it that stupid franchise designation rule that allowed Oakland to match?

Can you see Drew Henson starting this season? I´m really looking forward to finally seeing the kid play for some reason. Cowboys look pretty good overall. George has had a couple of poor seasons, but I can see him having a 1,300 yard season. And there´s still Julius Jones ... Parcells is one of the few coaches who knows how to handle and how to keep KJ happy. NFC East is looking pretty strong with Dallas, Washington and Philly.

Broncos have a couple of injury problem in 2nd round RB Tatum Bell, who after holding out for a couple of days, broke his finger on his first day in training and CB Lenny Walls. Was having high hopes of Lenny Walls turning into an elite CB this season playing on the opposite side of Champ. Sad to see John Mobley being released, but the defense looks pretty good with the additions of DJ Williams, Lynch and Bailey. Biggest question marks are on offense tho.

TE: Can Jed Weaver "replace" Shannon Sharpe? We probably won´t get Sharpe like numbers, but I´m pretty confident that Weaver can do his job well.

RB: Can one of them step up and "replace" CP? No, but I´m confident the group of Hearst, Bell, Anderson and Griffin will get the job done. Looks like Griffin is the starter for now, question marks about his durability remain.

OT: Lepsis is getting switched to LT from RT and last season´s first round pick George Foster is taking over at RT. Can Lepsis develop into a good LT?

WR: Can Ashley Lelie finally step up and show his potential? The 3rd year seems to be a magic year for WRs. He wouldn´t be the first to break through in his 3rd year. And then there´s Darius Watts ...

Hmm... this can turn out very ugly (from the Falcons camp, Atlanta Journal-Constitution):

Michael Vick on Tuesday talked about growing out his hair, which is now about 2 or 3 inches long: "I just said I wasn't going to cut it until I won a Super Bowl, so that's my motivation. I figure come January, it shouldn't be so high. . . . But it's getting pretty bushy. My mom doesn't like it."

Vick said he was growing it out last year but cut it. Shortly after, he broke his leg. "I figure this year, I'll stick to the script," said Vick, a superstitious sort.

Bring on the College Season.

Can´t blame you, the ´Canes are probably the best football team in Miami right now. If they can stay out of jail that is.

In 3 years they´ll probably tackle Vick by his hair then.

The Canes have less Jail problems than the upstate Florida St. Criminoles. People like to publicize the Miami incidents more because it sells papers, but the biggest infractions have actually occured at Virginia Tech and Ohio State.

As if losing Ricky wasn´t bad enough ....

The Miami Dolphins' David Boston suffered an injury to the left patella tendon in his knee during the team's practice Friday in Houston.

Boston will have an MRI late Friday night to determine the severity of the injury, ESPN.com's Len Pasquarelli reports.

If the patella tendon is torn, it is typically a season-ending injury.

Dolphins' coach Dave Wannstedt said the initial diagnosis was a strained patellar tendon.

Preparing for a scrimmage Saturday against the Texans, Boston's left knee appeared to buckle from under him without contact. With his knee heavily wrapped, he was taken off the field on a cart.
