Quite simple IF we had a choice between these two which one are you going for?

Kane on a free next summer

Neymar on loan with option to buy this summer

Decided there is no point in putting Kane for £110m inc addons this summer as don't see it as remotely realistic
 
Generally Neymar has easily been the better footballer but he’s had injury troubles in recent years and we are lacking more at CF (Hojlund, treatment room) than LF (Rashford, Garnacho, Sancho).
 
Signing either one would definitely block development of Garnacho in coming seasons. I prefer to watch Garnacho and Hojlund both grow into beast of footballer.
 
Depends how much the option to buy is, in order to make it a fairer comparison. But even assuming it’s a really low fee, it’s still Kane on a free next summer. That said, I think a 4+ year contract for either at their age next summer, on massive wages, is potentially a bad deal in the medium term.

If we could get Neymar now on a loan with a buy option of under 40m, and a contract that was heavily incentivised. Eg a 250-300k base with heavy appearance and performance bonuses, then I’d do that deal. But that’s likely as realistic as signing Kane this summer for 100m.

I worry Kane is going to want a 4 year deal next summer at 500-600k a week. Which will be palatable the first 12-24 months but be an albatross thereafter.

I think with the Hojlund signing, we’ve moved on from both. And if Greenwood returns, and Can get back on track, I don’t see how we need another striker in the near term.

I go for both frankly.

Neymar on loan to boost CF this season.
The best man to do what we are attempting with Sancho. And to take pressure off Rasmus


Monitor Kane on a free. A deal too good to not look at.
 
Neymar can be the best in the world on his day and can perform amazingly as a false 9, but he has gotten injury prone and is a lazy individual. Kane knows the league, is a hard worker, has not major injury problems. I vote Kane.
 
I wouldnt want Neymar nowhere near our club. He has a horrible injury record, and im not a fan of his attitude. I also feel he wont adjust easily to life in england, a la di maria.

On the other hand, Kane would be excellent for us.
