Scrolled through and couldn't see a thread.

Does anybody know what the Red, Silver, Gold and Platinum classes mean on next years season ticket yet?

Cheers, if there is already a thread, sorry, merge this into that one.

Has it got something to do with how long you've had your season ticket?

This is correct but they have not stated exactly what the need for this on your account is. Or, at least I have not read anywhere what it means.

I would presume that it'll be about getting tickets when over subscribed etc.

Yeah I know its how long, but surely it has a meaning, but nobody knows why. Hope its to do with away tickets and stuff, finally a step in the right direction with ticket allocation, Champions League aways are spot on, the League aways are a disgrace.

The club have not yet announced what it is going to mean, they say we will be told when we receive our STs next month - rumours are that it will relate to priority on ticketing but it could be something much less important like discounts on food&drink or merchandise - we shall see.

For those who don't know, the club are now noting how long fans have held a season ticket and splitting into these loyalty bands:
Red (0-4 years)
Silver (5 to 9)
Gold (10 to 25)
Platinum (25+)

I got it mine for the 08/09 season, am I red or Silver? Obviously is four years but this is the 5th season is what is confusing me!

It tells you on the letter you got with your renewal pack

I'm a Gold ST Holder (Top Red Alert ) although they have stolen a couple of years from me as I had a LMTB before my ST and they dont want to give any credit for that apparently.

Do we have any Platinum on here?

As good as an idea it is in theory, because let's be honest, the more loyal fans should have a priority, won't it discourage fans from getting STs? Knowing that, despite being a ST holder, there'd be no chance of getting away tickets, which I imagine is one of the reasons people buy them might discourage newer ST holders, and considering the difficulty they seem to be having, they might want to rethink this plan (assuming that is what they're planning).

Your right mate the whole season ticket and away ballot applications stink, it's basically a stitch-up. Having 650 million fans worldwide (and growing) counts for feck all with season ticket sales. The whole system needs a revamp I could rant for ages but ultimately be wasting my time.

Out of interest rant as much as you want and say what you would actually like to see happen with St's. I'm very interested is all, PM me if you don't wanna put it on here

Personally I think they should use a loyalty system, but employ it in such a way that tickets still find their way down to the newer ST holders. Something like:

Platinum: 50%
Gold: 25%
Silver: 15%
Red: 10%

Or something along those lines. But say if all the Platinum group had had their fill, but only taken 40% of the allocation, the extra 10% would go to Gold. That said, I don't have any idea of how long all the STHs have been going. Just my two cents anyway.

Yes I think that is a good point and one of the reasons I dont expect this to be anything to do with away tickets etc.

Whatever system that is used will still not produce many tickets for any season ticket holder. I think I had a good season by getting tickets for about 6 games and that was using multiple applications , you have to think that only about 1/3 rd of tickets allocated end up in the hands of 'normal' season ticket holders, after exec members, loyalty pot and then club officials take their whack, and when I got some once off the club secretary I had to get them from the ticket office and the pile of envelopes was rather large !! I would love to get a job in the ticket office because I bet there are some interesting tales to be told !
