If we get 7 points from our first 7 games I'll be surprised

Forget champions League we are going to struggle for any European football next year based on current form

Maybe, just maybe we could get a point against Soton and Leicester. As for the rest, definite losses

We could lose 4 easily and probably all 5. I just hoope there is some improvemnent on the pitch showing by the Palace game otherwise we are well screwed.

Few years ago I would have said that, we were shit but we used to turn up for big games. Hasn't been the case for 2 years now, we're shit and we get destroyed against big teams as well. The current team has no fight in them.

These players always manage to save their careers at Utd by winning just enough to not get sold. I expect a win against Liverpool.

We could easily be on zero points by the end of that run of games, and have been humiliated (again) but the scousers along the way.

I said it after the Brighton game and I'll say it again - the arrogance of some fans suggesting things will be great by the time the transfer window shuts and we play Liverpool, all we needed to do was sweep aside Brighton and Brentford with our current squad until then.

Doesn't matter who we add before the end of the window, this squad is full of weak willed people, been saying that for months too, but nope, just being negative apparently - soke people just can't see what's in front of them.

They are getting battered again, place is still poisonous as ever and Erik looks helpless

Southampton and Leicester have been truly awful. Hassenhutl is under pressure and some of the senior members are apparently rallying against him. Leicester are still relying on a 50-year old Vardy. You’ll beat both of them.

Liverpool is a massive task. Park the bus and play on the counter.

Guys, what does "Hag" mean? I understand what "Ten" means and I am worried because we are playing Liverpool.

Away - Brighton
Away - Brentford
Home - Liverpool
Away - Southampton
Away - Leicester
Home - Arsenal
Away - Palace

Two fecking home games in seven!

Southampton, Leicester and Palace are all shite and if we can't get at least 7 points from those games we're in massive trouble.

De Boer's record is under threat.

Only our sorry asses could take a manager that made Ajax look godly in the CL group stages and provide him with a team that could have him take that record from De Boer.

I'm usually pretty optimistic:

Home - Liverpool - Loss
Away - Southampton - Win
Away - Leicester - Tie
Home - Arsenal - Tie
Away - Palace - WIn

So 8 points from the first 7 games. That's me being optimistic. It could easily be 5.

I don’t know what everyone is worried about, we’re only 2 points behind Liverpool.

I'm copying and pasting part of my post from the relegation thread.

The results for those fixtures last season were:

Man Utd 0 - 5 Liverpool
Southampton 1 - 1 Man Utd
Leicester City 4 - 2 Man Utd
Man Utd 3 - 2 Arsenal
Palace 1 - 0 Man Utd

Will be surprised if we beat Arsenal with their current form. No way are we scoring 3 goals against anyone.

I'm very worried.

Brighton was at home. It's 4 home and 4 away in our first 8 games.

Not even sure we can get 3 goals in that period, let alone 3 points.

Soton are a shambles so we can beat them and sack Hasenhuttl in the process. The rest are out of our league unfortunately. We lost 3:1 to a worse Arsenal. And we are even worse than back then.

We lost 3-1 to Arsenal away, but beat them 3-2 at home. The upcoming game against them is at home. I don't see us beating them 3-2 this time around.

We drew 1-1 against Southampton away. Out of all of our upcoming games, that game is the likeliest one where I think we can get some points. Leicester away is an interesting one, can't call that.

None of those games are dead certainties for us to get points. To win games, you need to score goals, and I'm struggling to see how we're going to do that.

Too bad Southampton, Leicester, and Palace are away. I'd rather have them at home and Liverpool and Arsenal away right now. Southampton and Leicester have serious problems themselves. If we're getting any points, it'll be from those two games. We especially must win against Southampton.

Squeaky Bum Time

To add a glimmer of hope, Arsenal are dependable bottlers, so whilst in current form they should beat you comfortably, I can see you winning that one.

To those suggesting you might ironically beat Liverpool, that is absolute fantasy. They have the ball controlling ability of City (well almost) combined with high energy pressing. You won't see much of the ball and when you do have it, they'll be on you like angry wasps. I can't see your lot surviving that tbh.

If we improve last years result against Liverpool I will be greatly surprised. Our only hope is that Liverpool are not as good as last year, however we look significantly worse and lower in confidence also. At this point a 3-0 loss at home would be an improvement which says all we need to know about this United team
Also no away win since February maybe earlier? I don't think 3 points at Southampton or Leicester look likely, and palace looks impossible.

You're right to be worried. The problem currently isn't just the losses against Brighton and Brentford it is the manner of the losses and the way the form from last season has continued into this season.

For me, the Dipper game is vital. I don't expect anything out of that but simply a good performance with a bit of fight would mean that maybe a corner is turned. If there is another hammering/being played off the park, then things get very difficult imo where you don't see where the next win (ok, maybe still expect draws) is coming from.

If Utd get battered by the Dippers I wouldn't be surprised by 1-3 points after the 7 games.

Normally i believe on the law of balance. We cant possibly lose all five. Some are bound to go our way one way or the other

But who'd have thought Brighton and Brentford could spank us so thoroughly. I really didnt see a way out of Liverpool bar a cinderella miracle
