An absolute genius show.

It's a mock-newsdesk show, though about ten-billion rungs above the usual dross of that style... Aussies who have watched it will attest to its genius.

http://programs.sbs.com.au/newstopia/

You can watch full episodes on there (though a small amount of the stuff will be lost on most of you, since it involves Australian peoples that I doubt you'd know about).

I'll upload some youtube vids soon, too.

:lol::lol::lol:

Watch the first few minutes there of that episode and you'll see what I mean!

Micallef is a fecking genius. Watching that episode now.

I haven't watched Newstopia much lately but Micallef Tonight & The Micallef Program were amazing.

Oh mate you've got to get back onto it, the new series is being screened now, and it's genius (as per). Though you can obviously catch the episodes up on that site.

He's such a pisser. The show's criminally underrated, not enough people know about it... And there are definitely some around these parts that it'd appeal to.

Watching some older episodes now.

Sean: "So you're looking for a better class of refugee?"
Chris Eckerman: "There's 20 million refugees out there Sean, it's a buyers market"

:lol:

Cornell, did you watch that latest episode? And the end there about the Indian Space Program, where they sign off with:

Pie in the sky? No, that's a rocket.

:lol: fecking brilliant.

The Reserve Bank.

:lol::lol::lol::lol::lol:

One of the funniest things I've ever seen.

This is pretty damn funny, i like the bit about Steve Fossett having charges dropped against him for being illegally dead :lol:

It's basically an Australian "The Day Today" or "Brasseye". Shame there aren't more shows that can do this humour well.

It's absolutely brilliant mate, you should check that last one there - or those last two in fact. Genius stuff.

This and CNNNN have to be my favourite TV shows of all time. Absolutely brilliant. Did you ever watch CNNNN Cesc?

This episode in particular was brilliant. The 'Tilt Australia' campaign. :lol:

1/3

"Can we actually do it Charles? :lol:

Part 2/3, of the First Episode.

Just watching part 2 of the 3:

And now, for the latest headlines: 'The upside of El Nina; Australian landscape paintings get a whole lot easier........................'

... And in late news, Marcel Maceau dies a couple of weeks ago.

... driven perhaps by Lewis Hamilton, who's Formula One race turned into the pits when he couldn't...

:lol::lol::lol::lol:

Part 3/3.

'A victorious incumbent President, in the human form of Pervez Musharrif defended his parties claims of vote rigging, saying 298% of voters can't be wrong...'

Nah I haven't. But I'll give it a look in right now.

Don't think it's ever been on Free To Air down here in Melbourne, at least not to my knowledge.

:lol: It's such a quotable show.

I think it's the second episode of the first series where the Labor & Liberal policy advisors fight for underdog status. It's freaking hilarious.

:lol: Practically every line is quotable. And nah, that's the second part of the first episode, I put it up there.

The interview with Sir Edmund Hillary is an absolute pisser on part three there.

:lol:... and in our SMS a solution to a world crisis competition, the winner this week.... who suggest the conflict between the West Bank, and Gaaza governments be solved by: 'Combining FATAH and HAMAS to form FAT - AS..'

:lol::lol:

MCallef is a genius, used ot watch his shows religiously. He had one on channel 9 a few years back only lasted a few weeks but was hilarious.

I thought it was funny as feck too. He's too clever for a Channel 9 audience.

Micallef is a genius. Most underrated personality on Australian TV at the moment, most probably because he's on SBS.

IT'S ON TONIGHT!

The add just now: Watch us as we grab global news by the scruff of the neck, wrestle them to the floor and steal their wallets.
