...Darren Ambrose from Ipswich and letting him play out the rest of the season there.

Another excellent young player joining the Toon army.

Ambrose signs for Magpies

Newcastle have signed midfielder Darren Ambrose from cash-strapped Ipswich for a fee of around £1m.

But the England Under-21 international, who has scoring 11 goals this season, could find himself at Portman Road for the rest of the season if the clubs agree a loan deal.

Ambrose, 19, completed the formalities of his move on Monday and will link up with former Ipswich favourites Kieron Dyer and Titus Bramble.

"I am excited about moving to Newcastle United - but I am finding it all a bit scary," he told the Evening Chronicle newspaper.

"Not only that, but it's all a bit confusing. My mind is in a whirl about it all."

With Ipswich in administration, the Magpies have been able to secure his signature even though the transfer window closed in January.

So's he's black then....

;)

To be fair though I don't think Geordieland is as unwelcoming as it used to be to black players.... although I bet they still aren't welcome in the Bigg Market on a saturday night...

Things have changed, 77. We've had conversations about this before I believe.

Gladdens my heart to see Lua Lua the crowd favourite he is. Not so very long ago that would never have been the case.

The Toon Army loves our backflipping Congolese nutter!

Naw, you're right G1... it's good to see St.James is no longer the place where the racists feel comfortable to spout their shite anymore.
