Newby Heinrich - can one of the mods take care of this?

He's out of order. Maybe a quite word with him and ask him to apologise.

He might be German and English is his second language and doesn't understand the consequence of the word 'nigger'.

He hasn't replied to any of the other posts and might have realised he's screwed up but doesn't know what to do about it.
 
hmmm, can someone explain to me what exactly is this "consequence of the word 'nigger' " ? Because i honestly dont understand what all the fuss is about...

I agree its not a particularly nice thing to say and this Heinrich character should apologize immediately... but...

Everyone over here is always calling each other 'cnut' (or whatever other kind of verbal abuse) and some in particular are always trying to insult some others by different means. Why is it then, that when this particular word 'nigger' is used everybody is suddenly condemning the person using it while they themselves are equally responsible for insulting other people (albeit people with presumably the same color of skin)?

Racism has nothing to do with the word 'nigger' itself. Its just a distastefull word for 'black man'. Racism is about treating people differently on the basis of their skincolor, origin or religion...simply and only calling them 'nigger' has nothing to do with that. At most it has something to do with rude stupidity.

[EDIT: I'm not defending or accusing anyone, im just thinking out loud, so please correct me if im wrong. Its just that in Holland, the word 'nigger' isnt as horrible as some people over here are impying...]

In the end it comes from the latin word "Black" which lives on today in languages such as Italian "Nero" and Spanish "Negro". It's use in the English language is seen as highly offensive however.

I don't know, I don't and can't read every post made in here. Neither can anyone else. If it's not brought to the mod's attention, then we don't always see it.

Anyway, he's had a warning now, not just about the use of the word, but racism and bigotry in general.

Well said. People are so hypocritical. I have said this before, it seems very arbirtrary that some forms of prejudice and abuse are ok, but others are not. People love to jump on their high horses the moment a racist words is said, but they come out with all sorts of abuse and biggotry. Having said that, this guy put up a great big nazi banner on one of his posts, so ban the fecker and be done with it.

This is really a moot point and quite ridiculous.

The difference between 'nigger' and 'nigga' is indistinguishable except when written. It's like in London people frequently pronounce 'water' as 'watta', or 'cup of tea' as 'cuppa tea'.

Blacks who use the word 'nigga' as a (perverse) term of endearment with each other but attack none-blacks when they use it because they've heard blacks use it, are making the whole arguement into a joke.

Blacks have decided it is an unacceptable word in the first place. They can't then change the conditions of it's use.

There should be one rule for all.
 
The word nigger generally carries hatred and disgust directed toward Blacks. It's use is mainly to make fun of or to ridicule all Blacks. It is a term of exclusion or a stereotype of the lazy, stupid, dirty, worthless nobody, it's use is purposeful cruelty.

cnuts aren't a race, although at the rate that they exist on this forum, we could fill another planet with them

The written word makes it difficult to know the exact context sometimes, so words such as nigger should not be used.

Get a grip. It is not as if someone has been shot. Yes it is always offensive, but so is the word cnut, or arsehole etc.

To be fair "cnut or arsehole" is a generalisation of someone being an idiot etc. not directed at a particular race, where as the word nigger carries with it hatred and disgust directed towards a particular race. Nigger is used on the main to make fun of, to ridicule Blacks.
 
Nigger or Nigga coming from white people is offensive. If you are not black the real question is why do want to use a word that is so offensive?

So its offensive to call a black man a nigger ( which is a very derogatory word) but for a black person to call a white person a honkey ( which when you find out the meaning of it, is just as offensive) isnt.

As Grinner says, if a black person called me a honkey I would break his fecking nose.

Its not being a big girls blouse, its doint exactly what they would do if I called them a nigger.

Yeah right, black people have historically surpressed and abused the white people of the world, used them as slaves, whilst calling them stupid honkeys haven't they?

It's correct that honkey is a derogatory term for a white person - I'd refrain from using both, especially when Grinners around...No gain to be had in using either of these derogative words.

What would you say if a white person called a caucasian a honkey or a black person a called his own a nigger - can they be called racists?

I just did it!

And nobody really knows the origin of the word "honkey" anyway, and has very little historical context in terms of being used along with racism or racial abuse or surpression of a people, rather more a derogatory term used by oppressed blacks against whites. Wouldn't bother me in the slightest if someone called it me.

When God was giving out brains to certain people like Fred, he was rather niggardly when they got to the front of the queue.
 
No. He will boycott RTG until all of the mods/admins quit and come back to the Caf. ;)
