Newbury Races

Racing now won't go ahead at Newbury. Very odd circumstances.

Apparently horses are far more susceptible to electrocution than humans, something like one sixth of what would kill us would kill them. Dreadful events.

i have just seen that now, terrible thing to happen.

Im a sparks and can tell you that a minimal amount of AC current can kill a human. If the current goes across the heart its curtains. Your talking 30 milli amps for fatalaties and when you think that your average table lamp is fused at 13 amps you can get an idea of little current it takes to kill.

Most likely the current travelled up those poor animals legs and went straight across the heart and caused massive heart attacks.

Poor things.

Southern Electric have removed cabling from the Paddock, for inspection according to Sky.

Not a racing fan, but it is a sad story indeed.
