New to FM .. and need help please

Recently I have started playing Football Manager and do not know how to do some basic things I was hoping people could help me with.

1. First of all on the tactics screen, how do you give your player a positionbut give them instructions to play towards the wing or to track back etc.

2. How can I stop my GK running out to the halfway line... :rolleyes:

3. When moral is poor regularly on the same players ho can I improve it.

4. What can I do to stop so many injuries (mainly caused in training)

5. Any other tips hints to get me off to a good start.. during pre-season Queiroz lft for another club, I didn't even know he was lookng or someone wanted him!!
 
1. tactics - instructions - player instructions - select player and do whatever you want..

2. player instructions - select keeper - mentality (defensive) , forward runs (rarely) and make sure he doesnt have that arrow running forward

3. check if he's happy with training , happy with the contract , squad status etc .. check his profile to see if he dislikes another player and make sure he isnt transfer listed

4. injuries in training are because of high intensity trainings in the strength and aerobics section ,, keep them in the medium range

5.you get a message when some other team offers a contract to your staff member , you can offer them a better contract to make them stay ..
get meulensteen or someone to sign as the assistant for now .. see if you can get anyone better
arrange a lot of friendlies and get rid of the shit players fast , their value will go down next season

4. How do I chnage my training range to medium?
 
2. right click on the player you want to give the arrow to, and hold and drag it to the position you want

4. go into training<schedules and go over to the tactics sliders, on the slider marker overall drag it backwards/forwards til the schedule is on medium intensity
 
If the players' morale is down, fine them a week's wages then two weeks and eventually sell them.You can't have several bad apples contaminating the whole squad.

If a player reacts negatively to your decision or media comment, warn him then fine him eventually sell him.

Get yourself coaches/assistants that speak the lingua franca.

If a player requests a transfer, fine him then sell him.

Sign Vincent Kompany, Rafinha, Cesar Delgado, Igor Akinfeev, Gareth Bale.

Keep Guiseppe Rossi, Gerard Pique, and Ben Foster.

Now i need help

I signed Fred and he doesn't even have a work permit, it got rejected. How do i get him one now?

send him to Antwerp for a year. Offer him a new contract when he returns

you can list him for loan in the transfer status thingy and wait until clubs come after him or you can offer him to clubs

Or you can click on affiliates > send on loan > 'Club Name' (on the player profile screen)

That will offer him instantly.. And players usually don't have a problem going to a decent feeder team..

I think it says Move to Affiliate, not send on loan.
